My best Bills vs. Browns prediction for Saturday's 1 p.m. ET preseason game focuses on the quarterback matchup between Shedeur Sanders and Kyle Allen. Sanders will get the start for the Cleveland Browns after struggling in Week 1 of the preseason, while Allen will look to secure the backup role for the Buffalo Bills after completing 14 of his 16 passes against the Carolina Panthers last week.

The Browns are a 2.5-point betting favorite ahead of the matchup at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland. The game will air on NFL Network and stream on NFL+.

💰 Pick ⚖️ Units 🧠 Why I bet this
Bills +2.5 (+102 via FanDuel) 1u → 1.02u Kyle Allen has been excellent in recent preseason games.
Over 36.5 (-114 via FanDuel) 0.5u → 0.44u Neither defense is expected to play key starters.

💰 Bills vs. Browns best bet

Bills +2.5 (+102)

Sanders is getting all the headlines, but it's Allen who has my attention. Allen completed 87.5% of his passes in Week 1, as he threw for 108 yards. If you go back to last preseason, when he was with the Detroit Lions, Allen completed at least 80% of his passes in four straight preseason games, throwing five touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Unfortunately for Sanders, the other Browns' offensive starters aren't expected to be on the field with him this week. That's bad news for a player who went 6-of-11 for 79 yards and an interception last week.

Score prediction: Bills 21 Browns 17

🚀 Bills vs. Browns same-game parlay

Allen's success in the preseason isn't a fluke. He doesn't make many mistakes and completes the vast majority of his passes, which is impressive, even if he's playing against backups. However, the main reason I'm not taking the Bills outright is that Shane Buechele will see plenty of action, and I don't trust him nearly as much. I'll pair the Bills +2.5 with the Over, mainly because neither defense seems likely to play key players.

💡 How I'm betting Bills vs. Browns: NFL preseason strategy

Follow all of our NFL analysis and betting advice for the 2026 NFL season.

I expect the Bills to win this game. However, since I can get them at +2.5 for +102, I'm taking them against the spread rather than outright. I'm only risking one unit because, at the end of the day, it's preseason, and Josh Allen isn't expected to be on the field.

I'm also backing the Over, though I'm not willing to risk more than 0.5 units. I don't like what I saw from Sanders in Week 1, but he's always a threat to make an explosive play. Plus, the Bills plan to play mostly defensive backups.
