One of the best rivalries in the Big East resumes for the second time this season as I make my Villanova vs. Georgetown prediction. Tipoff from Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. is set for noon ET (TNT/truTV), with the Wildcats as 4.5-point road betting favorites.
Villanova covered as 8.5-point favorites in a 66-51 home win over Georgetown on Jan. 21. But I am backing the home underdogs ATS in the rematch, especially since three of their four wins during a current four-game winning streak have been by eight or more points.

Villanova is 11-0 ATS when holding opponents below a 27% free throw rate, and is 6-5 otherwise. That has me leaning towards Georgetown +4.5, as the Hoyas are coming off attempting 23 more free throws than Creighton in their last game.
Georgetown also turns the ball over at D-Iβs 35th-lowest rate. That should stymie a Villanova offense that averaged 1.10 points per transition chance entering the week.

Georgetown ranks 86th in effective field goal percentage defense, but it ranks 52nd in that metric during its four-game winning streak. That should lower the floor considerably for Perkinsβ point total.
