LSU vs. Iowa prediction

Over 168.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -110 via DraftKings

No two teams in the country score more points than Iowa and LSU. Clark is the runaway favorite by the women's Wooden Award odds because of her potent scoring ability. Behind the Hawkeyes' All-American, Lisa Bluder's team is first in the country in points per game (91.9) and Clark is scoring more per outing than any player in the sport (31.7).

With Clark leading the way, Iowa is second in the country in field goal percentage (50%), first in 3-pointers made per game (11.0), and first in 2-point percentage (60%). What has made Iowa so dangerous during the first three games of the tournament has been Clark's playmaking ability. She's averaging 9.3 assists per game during March Madness and has talented scoring teammates like Hannah Stuelke (14.0 PPG) and Kate Martin (12.8 PPG) to help lighten the load.

The Iowa offense is the reason it's one of the best programs in the country, but its defense is lacking and LSU has more than enough talent to take advantage. The Tigers offense puts up the second most points per game in the country (85.9) and can push a Hawkeyes defense that allows the 40th most field goals per game (26.2) and the 12th most 3-pointers (7.9).

Iowa will also have trouble against the length and physicality of Reese, who leads LSU with 18.7 points and 13.2 rebounds. She's the biggest reason why the Tigers put up the second most 2-pointers per game (26.4) and get to the free throw line more frequently than any team in the country (27.3 attempts per game). There's enough talent around Reese to take advantage of Iowa's lackluster perimeter defense, too. Mikaylah Williams, Hailey Van Lith, and Flau'jae Johnson all shoot better than 34% from three.

LSU vs. Iowa spread & Over/Under analysis

There's some disparity across best sports betting apps over how much Iowa should be favored by in this championship game rematch. BetMGM has the Hawkeyes favored by as many as 2.5 points (-110) while FanDuel has Iowa at -1.5 (-118). We don't expect this spread to go higher than 2.5 or lower than 1.5 prior to tip.

There's consensus around this Over/Under with our best live betting sites all offering it at 168.5. While that total may seem high, it could balloon to as much as 170.5 by tip. That's why we love getting it at 168.5 with -110 odds. Those odds imply a 52.38% probability the Over hits, according to our odds calculator, and a $10 wager would result in a $9.09 profit.
