The Detroit Pistons will look to end a 14-game losing streak with a home victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Our Lakers vs. Pistons NBA player props are based on the best NBA odds.

The Los Angeles Lakers have lost two of their last three, including a 138-94 thumping by the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Co. will look to get back in the win column with a road victory.

The Detroit Pistons own the longest losing streak in the NBA at a staggering 14 straight losses. Star point guard Cade Cunningham and surprising rookie Ausar Thompson should be hungry for a win at home tonight.

While we often focus on offensive stats, we can get some great plus-money value on the other side of the ball with three defensive props for this cross-conference showdown in Motor City.

To accompany our best bets for Wednesday, here are our best Lakers vs. Pistons NBA player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Lakers vs. Pistons NBA player props

Anthony Davis Over 2.5 blocks (+100 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a great opportunity for value, as Davis’ blocks prop has -115 odds at bet365 and even money odds at DraftKings. Davis is one of the NBA’s premier shot-blockers, and he’s swatted at least three shots in 10 of 17 appearances this season.

The Pistons allow the third-most blocks to opponents, giving Davis an even better chance for success. The Lakers and Pistons are tied for fewest 3-pointers attempted this season, which means Detroit should be taking a lot of shots closer to the basket. If that’s not incentive enough to back this prop, the Pistons and Lakers are 10th and 11th in pace, respectively.

There will be plenty of shots taken by the Pistons, most of them inside the arc. Davis is a phenomenal shot-blocker, and we can get this prop at even money. What’s not to love here?

Ausar Thompson Over 2.5 steals + blocks (-115 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

The fifth pick in this year’s draft has been phenomenal on both ends of the court. He’s averaging 11.4 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.7 blocks. On the season, he’s got 13 games with at least two steals and blocks and seven with at least three. Five of those seven games have come at home, where he’s been most effective as a defender.

In eight home games, Thompson has averaged 2.1 steals and 1.6 blocks compared to just 0.2 steals and 1.7 blocks in eight road games. The Lakers allow the fourth-fewest blocks to opponents but the fifth-most steals, and Thompson can cash this one with just steals. He’s recorded at least three of them in three games, all of them at home.

His PRA (points, rebounds and assists) prop is set at a respectable 22.5, but he hasn’t cleared that mark in five straight games. Instead, we’ll take plus-money odds where he really shines — on the defensive end.

LeBron James Over 2.5 steals + blocks (+130 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

As mentioned above with Davis, the Pistons have been a great matchup for opponents to rack up defensive stats. The Pistons allow the second-most combined steals and blocks, so James should have no problem cashing in on this prop tonight. His 1.5 steals per game this season are his most since the 2014-15 campaign.

He’s hit this mark in nearly half of his games, going for at least three steals and blocks in eight of 17 contests, including four on the road. Five of those eight games came against teams ranked in the top-11 in most steals and blocks allowed to opponents, so James can shine in this matchup. This should be a fast-paced game with high-shot volume.
