The better-than-expected Utah Jazz will be traveling to Arizona to face the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night. Here are our Jazz-Suns picks.

After defying all expectations and getting off to an impressive 10-3 start, the Utah Jazz (12-9) have lost their rhythm, going 2-6 in their last eight games. One of the wins came in a thrilling 134-133 victory last week against the Phoenix Suns in Utah. Their slump can partly be blamed on the absence of starting point guard Mike Conley, who has missed the last three games, all losses, while battling a leg injury and is expected to be out again Saturday. Forward Rudy Gay will also miss the contest.

The Suns are also missing their point guard, Chris Paul, but have won their last three games since losing to the Jazz. Despite also missing forward Cameron Johnson for most of the season, they sit on top of the Western Conference with a 12-6 record, including a 10-1 record at home.

Here are our Jazz-Suns NBA picks for Saturday (odds via BetMGM, DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Jazz vs. Suns Odds Analysis

After opening at -6.5 in favor of the Suns, the sportsbooks are mostly in consensus at -7, with BetMGM being the outlier at -7.5. Roughly 66% of the wagers are on the Suns as of right now.

The Over/Under opened at 229.5 and now sees the majority of the top sportsbooks listing the total at 232.5. About 52% of wagers are on the Under as of right now.

Jazz vs. Suns Picks

  • ATS: Suns -7.5 (-105 via BetMGM)
  • Over/Under: Under 232.5 (-110 via BetMGM)
  • Prop: Lauri Markkanen Over 20.5 points (-110 via DraftKings)

Jazz vs. Suns ATS Pick

Suns -7.5 (-105) ★★★★★

The Suns have dominated at home so far this season, with only two of their 10 home wins coming by less than nine points. They will also be looking for revenge after suffering a narrow defeat last week to the Jazz, who haven’t looked the same without Conley.

Nearly all of the top sportsbooks are offering -7 in favor of the Suns at -110 right now, but I like taking BetMGM’s spread at -105 instead for the extra payout.

Jazz vs. Suns O/U Pick

Under 232.5 (-110) ★★★★

This game features the fifth- (Suns) and seventh-best (Jazz) teams in terms of offensive efficiency so far this season, but it also features the fourth-most efficient defense from Phoenix. The Suns tend to control the pace of play, especially at home, where they’ve only given up 104.4 points per game to opponents so far this season.

On their current homestand, they’ve given up 95, 105, and 102 points heading into this one.

An overachieving Jazz team without its starting point guard might also fall victim to an off-night scoring in Phoenix, in which case the Under seems most likely.

Jazz vs. Suns Prop Pick

Markkanen Over 20.5 points (-110) ★★★

Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen has scored 23 or more points in four of his last five contests and is averaging 22 points per game so far this season. Whether or not you buy in to Markkanen being able to keep up his scoring numbers on impressive efficiency, the Jazz need to get points from somewhere, and he will continue to take his fair share of shots.

The odds of him getting 21 or more points feel like good value, and you can bet at DraftKings at -110.
