My Clippers vs. Kings player props today try to sell you on staying up for a late-night matchup at 10 p.m. ET on Friday at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif. (Prime Video), where the Clippers are a 3.5-point betting favorite.

Despite playing better of late, the Clippers (23-27) have leaned into more of a rebuild after trading away James Harden and Ivica Zubac. The Kings (12-40), because they are the Kings, kept their core intact during the trade deadline. It all makes for an intriguing matchup to dissect, if not impossible to predict, and that's why my NBA best bets ultimately target a rookie center to deliver in a big way.

💰 Best Clippers vs. Kings prop bet: Yanic Konan Niederhauser Over 5.5 rebounds (+100)

I actually like what the Clippers did at the trade deadline, and one of my favorite aspects of trading Zubac is that it opens the door for rookie center Yanic Konan Niederhauser. In the past four games without Zubac, Niederhauser has averaged 7.3 rebounds on 15.5 chances in 25 minutes per contest.

Niederhauser has cleared this rebound line in three of those four games, which includes a six-board effort against the Kings on Dec. 30. The Kings rank 23rd in rebounds allowed, a number that is worse when Domantas Sabonis (questionable) is out. 

Part of my calculus for this bet is that Sabonis will sit on the first night of a back-to-back, since the Kings want to lose this game to get a higher draft pick.

Yanic Konan Niederhauser to record double-double (+1000)

You might think I’m crazy for betting on a backup rookie center to record the first double-double of his career, but this is the exact type of situation where bettors should be taking shots. Nobody, not even the best sports betting sites, can be confident in how the Clippers will deploy their rotation following an active trade deadline.

In his first game since the Zubac trade, Niederhauser played 25 minutes. He finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Starting center Brook Lopez, who is 37 years old, recorded five points and two rebounds in 23 minutes.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Niederhauser earns more playing time some nights. He has three games reaching double figures in scoring this season and one 10-rebound effort. I’ll take the +1000 shot on him doing both tonight.

Malik Monk Over 9.5 points (-118)

I can’t believe the Kings didn’t at least trade away Malik Monk, but I’ll bet on his recent form in a spot where he might have a little extra motivation. Monk has cleared this scoring line in nine of his previous 12 contests, averaging 14.7 points per game.

Monk has reached double figures in seven of his previous eight outings, increasing his average to 15.3 points per contest. He now faces a Clippers team that ranks 26th in defending above-the-break 3-pointers and just went through a roster overhaul.
