Can the Lynx finish off the regular-season sweep of the Liberty?

Our Lynx vs. Liberty prediction should prepare you for this WNBA Finals rematch. It’s the final chance for New York (21-13) to get a win over Minnesota (28-5) when the two teams clash at 7 p.m. ET (NBA TV) on Tuesday at Barclays Center.

Although this is a likely Finals matchup, per the WNBA championship odds, the regular-season series hasn’t taught us much. Both teams have dealt with injuries in the first three games, which remains the case on Tuesday.

Minnesota has prevailed in all three meetings thus far, and we're backing the Lynx to finish off the season sweep as 1-point favorites at the best sports betting sites. Also check out my player prop, which predicts Kayla McBride to lead the way as a scorer.

Minnesota has yet to fully avenge last year’s loss in the WNBA Finals, but three wins over New York have helped ease some of the pain. The last two victories have come without Napheesa Collier, who should be nearing a return after being out since Aug. 2.

If Collier returns for this game, this line will shift dramatically. But I still like backing the Lynx as short favorites without her in the lineup.

I’m not sure if we have learned anything about what another potential WNBA Finals matchup between these two teams would look like, given that we haven’t seen them face off at full strength.

However, notably, the Lynx passed the Liberty as WNBA championship odds favorites after they defeated New York without Collier at Barclays Center on Aug. 10. Minnesota finally has the respect of the betting market.

Despite their dominance, the Lynx have been underrated enough from a betting perspective to post a 20-13-1 record against the spread. The Liberty, meanwhile, have been overrated with a 12-20-2 clip.

I don’t think that means the Lynx will win a potential WNBA Finals matchup, but it reflects where these teams stand at this point in the regular season. I’ll back the better team at this price.

👀 Lynx vs. Liberty player prop

🔥 Kayla McBride Over 14.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

📊 Best odds: +102 via FanDuel ($10 to win $10.20)

Minnesota guard McBride couldn’t find an offensive rhythm in Saturday’s win over the Liberty, going 3-for-14 from the floor. And yet, she finished with 17 points and hit one of the biggest shots of the game.

McBride has cleared this scoring prop in all three matchups against New York this year. She’s hit this Over in four of her past six games. I’ll gladly take this plus-money price.
