The Indiana Fever head to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., to take on the Connecticut Sun on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Coming off two straight losses, I'm expecting Indiana to get right as part of my Fever vs. Sun predictions and bolster their WNBA championship odds.

As Indiana awaits the return of Cailtin Clark from injury, it needs to keep its head above water following a 1-4 stretch. Luckily for the Fever, there's no better opponent in the WNBA to bounce back against than the Sun.

Connecticut is the worst team in the league at 6-26, and Indiana has beaten the Sun by double digits in their last two matchups. The combo of Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell should be enough to lead the Fever to a win against a team that has the league's least effective offense. My Fever vs. Sun predictions project an 88-78 win for Indiana.

This is the Fever's lowest spread against the Sun this season, and they shouldn't have any trouble covering it. Connecticut is 1-3 ATS in its last four games as an underdog, and the Sun's offense just doesn't have enough to keep up with Indiana. The Fever are top four in points per game (84.5), pace rating (78.7), and field-goal percentage (45.3%) behind an attack led by Mitchell (19.9 PPG) and Boston (15.2 PPG).

The visitors should have no trouble penetrating Connecticut's defense, which gives up the third-most points per game (86.4) and ranks second-last in defensive rating (111.5). The Sun are allowing the highest field-goal percentage in the W to opponents (46.4%), and don't have the offense to make up for their dreadful defense.

Connecticut is last in the league in points per game (74.8), offensive rating (96.5), field-goal percentage (40.4%), rebounds (31.2), and assists (17.2). There's very little about the Sun that should scare even a middle-of-the-pack defense like Indiana's, which has held the Sun under 78 points each of the last two head-to-head meetings.

Boston has lived up to the hype in her third season as a former No. 1 pick. She's one of three players in the league averaging over 15 points (15.2) and eight rebounds per game (8.2), the other two are MVP contender Alyssa Thomas and reigning MVP A'ja Wilson.

Boston is top five in the league in PER (23.0), offensive win shares (3.9), and offensive rating (119.7) ... she should create issues for the Sun. Connecticut allows the highest 2-point percentage in the league (53.7%) and the second-most rebounds per game (36.1).
