New York to stay sizzling vs. Wings

Entering the year, there was a real debate about which team was the best in the WNBA. Consider that settled after what we've seen from New York to this point.

The Liberty lead the WNBA in net rating (plus-13.1) and average scoring margin (plus-10.1) with the league's best offense and second-best defense. They've won 23 of 27 games, including six straight, and four of their last five wins were by at least 12 points.

That includes two impressive victories last week, when New York beat the Los Angeles Sparks by 35 points and followed that up with a 12-point road win over the defending champion Las Vegas Aces.

Dallas still finding its footing

The Wings returned from the Olympic break with a similar result to what we've seen from them all season long: a blowout loss.

Sure, it came against the Connecticut Sun, but Dallas still lost by 18 points at home for its 18th defeat in its last 21 games. Now the Wings hit the road, where they've been outscored by 10.7 points on average - the worst mark in the WNBA.

It helps to have Satou Sabally back after she missed the first half of this season, but this group still needs some time to gel before I'd trust it against the best team in the league.

Best player props for Wings vs. Liberty

Jonquel Jones Over 4.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the league's most underrated players, Jones does it all for the Liberty. She can grab 17 rebounds, like she did on Saturday. She can score 30-plus points, as she's done earlier this season.

She can also dish the rock, which she's done increasingly so in her last few games. The former MVP finished with seven assists on Saturday, and she's now cleared this total in three of her last four games as her teammates up their scoring load.

The Wings are the league's worst at preventing assists (23.2 APG), so I love Jones' chances of keeping that going on Tuesday. Most of our best sportsbooks have this priced around +100, but bet365 is offering this prop at +120, which would pay out $12 in profit on a $10 wager.

Satou Sabally Over 17.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

As we mentioned before, it sure helps the Wings to have Sabally - who finished fifth in MVP voting last season - back in the lineup after she missed the entire first half of the season as she recovered from a shoulder injury.

She didn't hesitate to test that shoulder in her season debut on Friday, tying the team lead with 17 attempts and six shots from deep. She converted only six baskets (35.3%) but still finished with 20 points thanks to her team-high eight trips to the line.

The main concern here is whether she can score efficiently enough against one of the best defenses in the W. If she maintains that volume from her first game, though, she should be able to clear this prop with some room to spare.
