We're down to the final five contestants as we head into the Survivor 49 finale, but is the winner essentially ordained? As we look at the latest odds to win Survivor 49, it looks like Savannah Louie has been all but crowned the victor. However, there are sure to be twists and turns as the action unfolds on Wednesday, Dec. 17, as other finalists will look to pad their resumes, avoid being outcast in the final votes, and sway the jury.

From the start of the season, Savannah has emerged as a serious threat. Armed with a silver tongue and strength in challenges, the former reporter created season-long alliances that have helped shield her and protect her (when she wasn't wearing an immunity necklace).
5️⃣ Survivor 49 final five
The original Uli has three members in the finale, with Savannah, Rizo Velovic, and Sage Ahrens-Nichols representing the tribe in the finale. The final five are rounded out by Kristina Mills (Hina) and Sophi Balerdi (Kele).
Who are the finalists?
We've whittled the field down to the final five, and their current price at prediction markets:
- Savannah Louie (92 cents): original Uli; Savannah enters with three individual immunities and strong alliances
- Rizo Velovic (7 cents): original Uli; Rizo holds an immunity idol, guaranteeing him (or an ally) a spot in the final four and is a smooth talker.
- Sophi Balerdi (4 cents): Original Kele; Sophi has been loyal to the core to Savannah and Rizo, likely misplayed a Knowledge is Power advantage
- Sage Ahrens-Nichols (3 cents): original Uli; Sage has been a long-term opponent of Savannah, with failed attempts to remove the favorite
- Kristina Mills (1 cent): original Hina; Kristina unfortunately seems like a number heading to the end, having lost most of her closest allies in recent weeks
⚖️ Missed opportunities?
While you can't take anything away from the gameplay of Savannah, who is seeing about 90% of the action on prediction markets, the story of the season will certainly be missed opportunities if she wins by an overwhelming jury vote.
In recent weeks opportunities have presented themselves for other contestants to take shots at Rizo or Savannah, and all have been dismissed. Will Sage regret targeting Sophie to avenge Jawan when an opponent the likes of Savannah could have been targeted (again), or will Sophi end up regretting holding loyal and targeting Steven's advantage instead of Rizo's idol in the penultimate episode? The third into the alliance with Savannah and Rizo was gung-ho to shake things up before a night at sanctuary softened her stance.
At this point, it seems like the value has disappeared on Savannah to win Survivor 49, with 92 cents on the win and only 9 cents on the no.
However, should you be able to capture Rizo (currently 7 cents) in the 15-cent range, that's almost certainly worth a shot.
💰 Who will win Survivor 49? Prediction
This one pains me to say: My prediction for who will win Survivor 49 is Savannah. I get it, it's boring.
However, she's been in charge of the game for a long time, calling the shots and controlling the play with long-time partner Rizo. As a former reporter she's well-spoken, her loyalty to Rizo (and Sophi) will shine through as examples of prime play. She's navigated a target on her back on a couple of occasions (perhaps not enough), and has been the season's most dominant immunity challenge player.
There are, of course, scenarios where she doesn't make the final vote. As someone who loves mayhem, I'd be down for those. But, this feels like it should be Savannah's time.
📺 How to watch the Survivor Finale
The Survivor finale airs tonight (Dec. 17).
The three-hour finale airs live on CBS. It gets underway at 8 p.m. ET.
However, for the first time in the show's history, the finale will be partially delayed. On Tuesday, Dec. 16, President Trump announced he planned to make an Oval Office address at 9 p.m. ET.
CBS will interrupt the finale to air the address, then resume immediately following the speech. There aren't any prediction markets available on whether the commander-in-chief spoils the end of the finale, but you have to feel there's at least some chance of that.
