I'm fully willing to admit that my numbers might be slow to catch up to what the Liberty have been doing lately. I was on the Atlanta Dream +8 last weekend, but that ticket never had a chance as the Liberty rolled to a 30-point victory.
Still, I see reason to back the Sun as home underdogs in this one. For one, my model actually makes Connecticut a slight favorite.
The Liberty are also coming off an overtime win over the Washington Mystics just two days ago and have a matchup with the Aces set for Thursday. Playing three of the top four teams in five days is a brutal stretch for anyone, particularly with two of those contests taking place away from home.
The Sun, meanwhile, are coming off a 24-point victory over the Chicago Sky and won't have to play again until July 1 when they travel to Las Vegas. Connecticut is a balanced team, ranking third in both offensive rating and defensive rating to this point in the season.
Despite being the only team to defeat the Aces and ranking second in the league with a dozen wins, the Sun continue to be undervalued by the best sports betting sites. We will take the points in a game the Sun might just win outright, though this is only a three-star play due to how good the Liberty look right now.
