In the biggest game of the 2023 WNBA season, the Las Vegas Aces will host the New York Liberty during Thursday's superteam showdown. Read on for our Liberty-Aces prediction based on the top WNBA odds from our best sports betting apps.

Sin City will be the site of a superteam showdown when the Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty square off for the first time during the 2023 season. These two teams met in the preseason opener, with Las Vegas claiming an 84-77 home victory.

The two squads have been pacing the WNBA championship odds since the offseason when both organizations made splashes to bolster the respective rosters. Now the Aces and Liberty sit atop the latest WNBA standings with double-digit wins, and they're looking even better than advertised.

Las Vegas is off to a sizzling 13-1 start, which includes a 7-7 clip against the spread for the defending first-time champs. The Liberty (10-3, 7-6 ATS) have won four straight after dealing with some growing pains earlier in the season.

We might as well root for points when the two best teams in the W meet up on Thursday, right? And the best part about this pick is that you don't need to stay up super late to see the outcome, though we would highly recommend trying to make it to the end for this one.

My model projects 176 points will be scored during this contest, which is right in line with the full-game total at our best live betting sites. But there's certainly value in betting on points early when these two teams play.

The two clubs lead the league in offensive rating in the first half. The teams also rank in the top two in overall offensive rating, though the numbers are better across the first two quarters. Las Vegas has posted a 114.4 offensive rating in the first half compared to a 113.0 mark over a full game. New York's offensive rating is 112.6 in the first two quarters and 107.9 overall.

That's obviously a marginal difference, but it speaks to how both teams want to set the tone out of the gate. The Aces lead the WNBA with a first-half net rating of 23.3 while ranking third in pace across the first two quarters. The Liberty are third in net rating (15.3) during the first stanza.

This might seem like a daunting number, but I expect both teams to come out firing in the most significant contest of the year so far. Each roster boasts plenty of star power that will be on full display.

BetMGM is offering a -105 price on the Over, but it's joined FanDuel with a -110 vig for the best price on the market. I'm happy to take the current offering before it gets any pricier to bet on points in the first half of Thursday's superteam showdown.

In addition, I bet Over 13.5 points for Chelsea Gray at FanDuel, which is offering -115 vig on the wager. Gray is projected to finish with 16.15 points, according to Unabated's WNBA props projections. That means you can also take advantage of FanDuel's +118 listing on Gray to score 15-plus points via an alternate prop market.

Gray, who was last year's WNBA Finals MVP, is coming off a 25-point performance against the Indiana Fever and tends to deliver when the Aces need her most. Gray is averaging 14.4 points per game, clearing this scoring prop in eight of her 14 outings this season.
