Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers Prediction & Picks: MLB Odds for Sunday, July 12
Last Updated: July 12, 2026 9:33 AM EDT • 5 minute read X Social Google News Link
Major League Baseball’s All-Star festivities may be looming next week, but my Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers prediction calls for a slugfest between these two NL West rivals before the season hits a pause.
Zac Gallen was supposed to make the start for Arizona, but was replaced with Mitch Bratt with the righty dealing with elbow inflammation. That means I am looking to Mookie Betts’ RBI prop and Andy Pages to go deep as a value play with two of my MLB picks. Opposing Bratt on the mound is Emmet Sheehan, with first pitch from Dodger Stadium scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET (ESPN Unlimited). The Dodgers are -225 betting favorites.

🏆 Who will win Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers?
Arizona snapped a four-game losing streak in Friday’s series opener. But Los Angeles remains MLB’s only 60-win team, and that gives it the edge while trying to avoid a sweep.
Score prediction: Dodgers 7, Diamondbacks 4
💰 Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers prediction & best bet
Over 9.5 (+100)
Mitch Bratt lasted just three innings in his only outing of the season so far. That means a Diamondbacks bullpen that has thrown the fewest innings this year, likely by design, will be counted on to do things it isn't accustomed to.
Prior to scoring just five runs total through the first two games, Los Angeles averaged five runs per game at home against Arizona.
On the other side, Emmet Sheehan has issued two-plus walks in three straight starts, and allowed multiple home runs in four of 11 outings.
📡 SBR Edge: Bucking trends
The Under is 16-6 in Arizona's last 22 road games, and is 29-21 in Los Angeles' previous 50 home games.
🔥 Best Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers player prop bet
Mookie Betts Over 0.5 RBI (+141)
Mookie Betts is one of the hardest hitters in the sport to strike out, owning a 98th percentile put in play percentage. And when he does put the ball in play, he squares it up at a 100th percentile rate, with a 97th percentile sweet spot percentage.
Betts is in one of the most optimal RBI spots in any lineup in the Majors, batting behind Shohei Ohtani (.403 on-base percentage), Andy Pages (an All-Star having a career year), and Freddie Freeman (.872 OPS is second on the team to Ohtani). His 31 RBI should not be overlooked as its happened in 59 games, as that still has him on pace for 85 RBI over a full 162-game season.
Betts is a natural in the cleanup spot. While batting first, second, or third this year, he doesn't have higher than a .179 average or .146 BABIP in any split. But as the team's cleanup hitter for 38 games, he has slashed .285/.341/.477 with a .288 BABIP.
💣 Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers home run prediction
Andy Pages to hit a home run (+350)
The Diamondbacks switching from Zac Gallen to Mitch Bratt must be music to Andy Pages' ears (even though he has homered once off Gallen), given the way he has dominated left-handed pitching.
Pages is slugging .516 with an OPS 93 points higher against southpaws than right-handed pitchers. He has slugged five home runs in 95 at-bats against lefties, and Bratt is not necessarily a ground-ball specialist with four ground balls and four fly balls in his first start.
In a Dodgers lineup filled with former MVPs and multiple-time All-Stars, it is often easy to overlook Pages despite his 74th percentile xSLG and 65th percentile hard-hit rate.

🚀 Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers same-game parlay
The two legs of this same-game parlay involving player props pair nicely with helping the Over cash, which it has done just 19 times in Los Angeles' last 46 home games. I'm giving this SGP more of a chance of cashing by swapping Pages' home run wager for the Over on his runs scored prop, given that he has crossed the plate at least once in eight of his last 13 games.
💵 Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers SGP picks
- Over 9.5 (-105)
- Mookie Betts Over 0.5 RBI (+120)
- Andy Pages to score 1+ runs (-140)
Best odds: +636 via FanDuel (0.1u -> 0.64u)

💡 How I'm betting Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers: MLB strategy
Follow all of our MLB analysis and expert predictions for baseball season.
Given that I expect a slugfest between these teams, I wouldn't put anyone off backing Los Angeles' team total Over or the Dodgers -1.5 on the runline (FanDuel is the only top sports betting site with as low as -105 runline odds). But I am also not overlooking Emmet Sheehan's struggles with this wager, and am cautious about siding more with Los Angeles on any bet in case its bevy of All-Stars already have one eye on next week's festivities in Philadelphia.
📊 Live Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers odds
Most of the top MLB betting sites are aligned with Los Angeles' -225 moneyline odds, while bet365 is the only one 19 cents higher at -244. Despite the Dodgers losing the first two games of the series by a combined 18-5, the moneyline odds have shaded in L.A.'s favor, up massively from an opening number of -200. Thus, of the 60% of early wagers that have backed the home favorites, much of those must consist of sharp action.
Several of the best MLB betting sites have seen their totals tick up to 10 or even 10.5 from an opening number of 9.5, but in all cases the line returned to the original number of 9.5 across the market. With near dead-even betting splits as of early Sunday morning (53/47 in favor of the Over), we're likely to settle in with an O/U of 9.5 before first pitch, even if the line climbs back to 10 at some point throughout the day.
