Tour Championship Pick to Win & Odds 2025: Scheffler the Heavy Favorite for FedEx Cup

Scottie Scheffler (+170) is the betting favorite by this week's TOUR Championship odds as he seeks a second straight FedEx Cup title at East Lake Golf Club.

Scottie Scheffler (+170 via BetMGM, 30.04% implied win probability) is the heavy and consensus betting favorite by the latest Tour Championship odds from our best golf betting sites for the PGA Tour's season finale this week at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Scheffler's seeking a second straight FedEx Cup title, his sixth win of the 2025 calendar year, and a second straight victory after winning the BMW Championship last week.

Rory McIlroy (+850 via Caesars) and Tommy Fleetwood (+1400 via DraftKings) follow Scheffler on the Tour Championship oddsboard. Scheffler has nearly a 4,000-point lead in the FedEx Cup standings after winning last week, but that no longer means much as this tournament will be played without the advantage of starting strokes for the first time since 2018.

Thursday's first Tour Championship tee times will begin at 11:16 a.m. ET, with pairings assigned by reverse order of the FedEx Cup standings. Scheffler and McIlroy will be in Thursday's final group, teeing off at 2 p.m. ET. The tournament can be watched on Golf Channel, NBC, and Peacock.

Rory McIlroy to win the TOUR Championship

👉 Best odds: +850 via Caesars (bet $10 to win $85) | Implied win probability: 10.53%

McIlroy is second on the oddsboard to win the 2025 Tour Championship but his +850 odds offer far more value than Scheffler's +170 outright odds.

The reigning Masters champion is a three-time FedEx Cup champion, and though he skipped the first playoff event and finished a lackluster T-12 last week, it means nothing as he has long been safely in the 30-man field for the season finale.

McIlroy has averaged 2.66 strokes gained on the field across 44 career rounds at East Lake Golf Club. He has more rounds played at this venue than anyone else in this field.

The Northern Irishman was +800 each of the past two times he won the FedEx Cup, though he trailed the starting strokes leader each time. His odds shouldn't be this high in a level playing field, especially following strong play with his driver and putter last week.

Scheffler's coming off a come-from-behind victory in the BMW Championship for his fifth win of the 2025 season. It marked his second straight PGA Tour season with at least five victories, and those wins included two major championships.

He now seeks a second straight FedEx Cup title at East Lake Golf Club but won't have the advantage of starting strokes after starting the season finale at 10-under each of the past three years.

Scheffler has gained an average of 2.07 strokes on the field per round across his 20 career rounds at East Lake. His accurate driver, elite iron play, and approach game make him a strong course fit for this venue. He led last week's field with 3.73 strokes gained: around-the-green per round and will be tough to beat at any course with a comparable performance.

But the +170 odds are far too short. The PGA Tour removed starting strokes from the TOUR Championship, and this tournament will be played as a standard 72-hole stroke-play event. Everyone in the 30-man field will start at even par for the first time since Tiger Woods' victory in 2018.

I'd advise passing on Scheffler and taking the value found elsewhere as a result of his suppressed odds.
