Our USC-Colorado college football player props for Week 5 are determined by the best college football odds. We're assessing the possibility of a stronger performance from the Colorado offense compared to last weekend when they faced the Oregon Ducks.

After a disappointing defeat in Eugene against Oregon in Week 4, the optimism for a quick turnaround in Boulder was shattered. Now, as the Buffs gear up to face another top-10 opponent this Saturday, the pressing question emerges: can the Colorado offense make substantial improvements?

This improvement is crucial if one is considering betting the Over on any player props associated with the Buffaloes.

Here are our best USC-Colorado college football player props for Week 5 (college football odds via our best college football betting sites; Pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

USC vs. Colorado college football player props: Week 5

Brenden Rice Over 54.5 receiving yards (-115 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

USC QB Caleb Williams will surely put on a show in a highly anticipated televised affair in the early broadcast window on Saturday. But his yardage props are lofty given the potential that USC will be able to lean more heavily on its running game in the second half.

The yardage props for star wideout Brenden Rice, though, seem particularly attainable. The son of Hall of Fame NFL wide receiver Jerry Rice received an increase to his workload during a Week 4 win over Arizona State, catching seven passes for 133 yards. Even if his opportunities dip back down, Rice can conceivably clear this total on just one play against a depleted Colorado secondary. His one catch against Stanford? A 75-yard touchdown.

The lines on Rice’s receiving total vary across our best sportsbooks. Try grabbing his line at BetMGM, which offers it at 54.5 yards. Rice is still a value at DraftKings and bet365 (57.5 yards). Avoid the FanDuel line at 60.5.

Shedeur Sanders Over 309.5 passing yards (-114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Colorado offense was completely stuck in neutral during Week 4 against an Oregon defense that ranks 20th in the nation in adjusted efficiency. Shedeur Sanders couldn’t find his rhythm, even amid an overwhelmingly negative game script that should have lent itself to passing-yard accumulation during garbage time, finishing with only 159 yards.

The venue switch back to Boulder should allow Sanders to take better advantage of another projected negative game script. USC’s defense is much more forgiving, ranking 70th in the FBS in adjusted efficiency.

Even in a losing effort, Sanders should put on a better show this Saturday to clear the 309.5-yard mark for the fourth time in 2023 as part of our college football predictions for Week 5. FanDuel offers the best odds at -114 on this Over, while Caesars is featuring the least favorable odds at -117.

Caleb Williams anytime touchdown (+135 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Colorado has allowed a rushing touchdown to the opposing quarterback in three of its four games so far this season. Williams, one of the most prolific passers in college football, is also a threat with his legs near the goal line, scoring on the ground three times over his last two games played.

One of the most penalized teams in the nation, Colorado’s secondary could be susceptible to the type of defensive penalties that set up the USC offense with goal-to-go scenarios, leading to scoring opportunities for Williams.

While the odds of a Caleb Williams anytime touchdown at most of our best sportsbooks sit between -135 and -140, the USC star is at +135 thorugh Caesars. If those outlier odds don’t last, reduce this recommendation to a three-star play at the odds from other books.
