This week, he will be without receiver Travis Hunter, as he takes on the best team he has faced so far this season. Will his incredible numbers continue, or will he and the Buffaloes receive a wake-up call against the Ducks?

The Buffaloes have made it clear they don’t run the ball. They’re averaging just 61 yards per game on the ground, but they’re averaging 418 yards per game through the air. While Sanders has thrown for at least 348 yards in all three games this season, he’s about to have a really hard time against the Ducks.

The Ducks are only allowing 158.7 passing yards per game. Those numbers are a bit skewed because of their game against Portland State, but they held Hawaii to just 142 passing yards and Texas Tech to 282.

There is no denying how impressive the Buffaloes were against the TCU Horned Frogs in Week 1. However, over the last two weeks, the stats are far more impressive than the play on the field.

Last week, Sanders had just one touchdown pass with 36 seconds remaining in the game. Then he exploded for three in the final moments and overtime. The week before, he threw just two touchdowns against a really bad defense.

The Ducks’ defense has allowed five passing touchdowns this season, and while Sanders certainly could continue to impress in this game, the price for his Over simply isn’t worth it. If he struggled against Colorado State without Hunter, what’s he going to do against the Ducks?

This is a value play more than anything else. Sanders has run for just one touchdown this season, and a majority of his carries have been sacks. He’s not a quarterback who looks to run the football, but he may try to do it more against a secondary that is going to give him headaches.

Sanders should be under pressure all game. He has been sacked 16 times already this season. With so little time and without his favorite target, he may try to use his legs more to keep drives alive. In the red zone, he will need to take what the defense gives him, which may mean foregoing throwing the football and running instead.
