Probably gonna avoid that one Staco. Stepanek is 8-1 vs. Flodonis, although the lone loss came in Cananada in 2008 ... Lopez is usually very flakey in the US Open Series except for the Open itself where he seems like he tries. Stepanek made me some coin last week, so I figure he's due to fukk me if I touch him this week, so not going to.

Went big on Pav since she's a) the better player and b) had a sizable advantage on the surface, but damn, damn, damn. She's one of those that beats me when I pick against her and screws me when I take her...won't be going near her for a while.
What are your thoughts on Montanes vs. Russell? Getting to a final and then having to go from Austria to Canada makes Montanes a question mark, but those are some nice odds on him as a dog, even if clay isn't his best surface.Comment -
Yeah I don't think I would pay the price for Russell as a favorite. He's had good moments on hard courts, but he's not reliable from tournament to tournament. Problem is Montanes has an awful record on the surface.Comment -

Small play here situational like. Fish's heel the obvious key here. He said he needed a couple weeks off with rehab to be 100%. He's had about a week, so who knows. Lopez wasn't stellar against Stepanek, but he survived and has a nice edge in court time now over Fish here in Cananada.

Stosur's serve has looked pretty solid this week and sounds as if it's suited well for this surface. Na Li is 0-4 on hard courts since her great start to the year in Australia. Stosur is 3-0 vs. Na Li, all on clay. However, those do yield that Stosur's serve has troubled Li on slower stuff - so a faster surface should give her an edge me thinks.Comment -

Kvitova's power should be a good match for Petkovic on this surface. Petkovic is capable, but flaky with her serve. Kvitova isn't unflappable, but seems to have an easier time holding. Petkovic has allowed 27 break opps in two matches and it just takes the right opponent to make her pay for that sort of form. Fish gets Gulbis and a chance to show his heel was the reason that Gulbis got the best of him in LA. Fish got better as the match went on against Lopez last night and showed good focus to win in that late night setting where motivation can be tricky.Comment -
