Was worth the extra juice over +4 at plus odds. Will be ready to fade Del Potro at big prices for a bit longer still. Anyone who gleams that he is "back" from this tournament I think is jumping the gun. He's certainly doing a nice job of grinding out results, but his fitness still isn't close to 100% and his game also isn't near the level it was pre-injury yet. Still, remarkable that he is able to get results like this with all those things said. Del Potro will be a superb futures try at the US Open if he doesn't have any set backs + is smart enough to not overschedule. Of course that is assuming he gets a favorable place in a draw - it will be real interesting since he's still going to be ranked pretty low. Will be interesting to see where he's placed in the French & Wimbledon as well because he's competent on those surfaces.

Meh. Looked at her results - she's horrible. Kustova has gotten beat down in qualifying for most events she entered and retired from her last event. Agree the price is pretty retarded, but nothing I'd touch either way. This might be a Challenger week. The one on France has some names in it .. Dimitrov is the #1 seed.

Dodig +125: Indoors
Dodig Davis Cup inexperience, but great surface for him and home crowd. Kohlschreiber not best on indoors, inconsistent this year.

Johansson -115: Indoors
Swede is ranked in the 700s and favored, shows what a POS Gabashvili is. Gabashvili inexperienced at Davis Cup [2 matches], poor form and not good on this surface [lost 5/6]. Is JJ healthy?

U gotta be crazy to take Johansson. He has 3 competitive matches for the last 2 years and Gaba is not trash.

Thinking long about it and Gabasvili is trash on this surface IMO and in general since the French last year, he's been worthless outside of his surprise New Haven run. Johannson still has that mega serve and showed it in the Challenger last week. If it was best 2 of 3, I'd do it without even thinking about it - but 3 of 5 gives pause because I don't think he's probably in good enough shape to go longer than 4. 2-5 with wins over Isner & Schuettler don't inspire much for me though on Gabashvili. On indoors, he's just not good and the quick surface will work right with Johansson's serve.

Also, Gaba beat Isner recently so he showed he could handle big serves. I am not saying that Johansson is not capable but I need at least 2.5 to even consider it with the uncertainty surrounding his form.

Problem was/is that all the pressure is on Melzer because Austria has shit else on their team. Any losses by Melzer and Austria was/is toast.

Only one match interests me on Sunday in Davis Cup. Melzer v. Simon. Can Melzer save Austria for another match? He lost the opener to Chardy and played doubles. Is fatigue his downfall vs. Simon? I think surface-wise, Melzer gets a little edge. Question is does he atone for his embarrasing opening loss or does Simon give France the victory? Pressure is all on Melzer here at home ... but the Austrians got a little momentum winning doubles on Saturday. Clay is not Simon's best surface. Something tells me this is going to be a horrid 5th tie to decide the match-up with Chardy & Koubek. Melzer took on the task of leading the Austrian squad here and he needs to come through here to keep them alive. At +120, I'm taking a shot. There really is legitimately pressure on both sides because Chardy should not be trusted in a tense finals situation nor Koubek. Should be a cracker.

5th set now for Melzer-Simon. I don't know if Melzer has any gas left, but gotta be a good buzz going into the Airport Hangar. Kinda agree on taking the long shot perhaps Beef even if Koubek is a POS, so is Chardy and especially perhaps when it's all on the line. Melzer's gotta get this one first though.
