I think Raonic wins, but I haven't won shit today ... and Pavlyuchenkova is gonna do her best to throw this match away to keep me winless. Fawk.

KOHLSCHREIBER +4 [-120]
Kohlschreiber isn't in the best vein of form this year, but there is something about him that seems to bug Soderling. The German has beaten Soderling several times - albeit before Soderling turned into the stud he is now. However, in February on an indoor hard court, Kohlschreiber took a set off Soderling in Rotterdam and took him to the limit in a third set tie break. Kohlschreiber will need to improve over his opener against Smyczek that saw him have to go to a third set tie break.

#1584Damn Kohlschreiber wins straight up. Winner, but would have been a nice moneyline snatch. Have not kept up with doubles a lot lately due to the lack of matches, but Kunot-Marach are always fairly tough.Comment -

#1585ATP: DEVVARMAN +148
Line has drifted out here in favor of Malisse who was a shorter favorite. As always, not going to try to read into that. Devvarman comes into this in good form on hard courts this year and should be full of confidence. Malisse has played well here this week, but he's one of those types who can go from hero to zero quickly. Even though both Baghdatis & Tipsarevic were far from their normal level of play recently against the Indian, Devvarman has to have taken note that he's not a punching bag for these upper level players all the time. Malisse brings the usual, big serve when working and a big forehand - but he's not immune to errors and erratic play. Devvarman would serve himself well here by making Malisse work longer rallies as I don't trust Malisse's fitness over Devvarman's. I think Devvarman's return game could make the difference here and I'm willing to give him a shot if Malisse does not have an overpowering serve today - which he did not show nearly as much vs. Tsonga.

#1591My rule #1 in tennis used to be never betting on Russians. But I think it'd be more appropriate to be not to try to figure out why tennis lines move. Malisse is a prime example today. He was maybe a -120 favorite and went all the way out to -170. Normally when those heavy chalk lines movie, I figure it's the "value" people who want to think because the dog carries a big price that it's worth a shot. People will see Harrison beat Chardy and a "seed" in Garcia-Lopez and probably say hey - maybe he can pull it off. Little to no chance in my book unless Raonic pulls a muscle or wakes up with no arms.Comment -

#1593ATP: QUERREY +130
I found some funny reading around the web on the perception of what Verdasco did in the 1st round against Berankis. The Lithuanian retired in the 2nd set with a back injury and the perception seemed to be that Verdasco easily moved on .... except he was down 5-2 I think in the 1st before Berankis started struggling physically. Verdasco really hasn't always shown interest in the non-Slams on hard courts in the past year. He's dropped five of his last six on outdoor hard courts in non-Slams dating back through last August. Querrey was battling a shoulder problem at Delray Beach in February and wisely skipped Davis Cup. He looked solid against Tipsarevic in his 1st match at Indian Wells, showing some pop on-serve. His comments show that he was very pleased with his performance. I think if Querrey brings a big serve tonight, he's going to be in this match with a chance to push Verdasco.
Of you can whittle it down to a pair of headaches, take the plus money.

#1600Pass on Llodra for me. Not that Troicki is unbeatable, but Llodra is not the same on outdoor courts as indoors where his serve can really keep him in matches. I think it's about like the Dolgopolov line from yesterday, meant to draw you in.Comment -

#1601ATP: CILIC -130
Jeebus help me, but Cilic has looked pretty solid since some early visits to Flake City. He made the finals in Marseilles and showed good nerves in Davis Cup play. He routed Serra in his opener here in Indian Wells, showing good pop. He draws Wawrinka who was fortunate to survive Davydenko. He did not display a particularly impressive serve or great ground strokes, but he battled well. Some of it could be the Swiss acclimating back to hard courts after playing clay, but I'm not willing to bank on his improvement here. If Cilic can continue to hit the ball sharply and rip off big serves, I fancy his shot to continue his recent solid play.
ATP: GASQUET -125
Gasquet draws Melzer today. Dicky Gascan was solid against Cuevas, rarely threatened on-serve in a straight sets win. Melzer had to rally from down a set to beat Benneteau which he did going away. Was not overly impressive as fatigue and a quick turnaround from Davis Cup play could be somwhat to blame for Melzer's performance. The Austrian though wasn't in particularly good form before Davis Cup while Gasquet has shown some nice results on this surface in 2011 at 8-3. Melzer has only been past the 3rd round at Indian Wells once and that was last year when he got a walkover into the 4th round.
