Would never pay that price on Bellucci unless you can use it in a parlay, even then your risk vs. reward is not great.Comment -

WTA DOHA: PENNETTA +5 [-109]
Pennetta draws Wozniacki. Woz leads the head-2-head 5-0 [one by walkover], but their two meetings in 2011 went three sets. One was on an outdoor hard court in Montreal where Woz finished +6 by demolishing Pennetta 6-1 in the 3rd. I don't hold any misconceptions here that Pennetta is going to pull off a win, but she's always shown great fighting spirit. The Italian has been superb on this surface this season with a 15-3 mark. The lone losses coming to Kuznetsova and Kvitova. Woz is 11-2 on outdoor courts in 2011. Pennetta will need to do much better on-serve against Wozniacki after allowing far too many break opps against Safarova. Wozniacki will take advantage of those opportunities, but per usual in WTA - Pennetta figures to get some looks at breakers when Woz is serving. In their meetings last year, Pennetta allowed 32 break opps to Woz's 23. Pennetta has been fairly clutch until yesterday at saving breakers this season - but I THINK the key is for her to keep the break opps in single digits and that could lead her to keep this one competitive.

#1409I went with the "total tracker" on this one. Over getting juiced @ -139. Under is my play. Hate when I first wake up, open the smart phone and get to placing bets. Then come to see a great write up by EP. Hopefully we get a 63 64. What do you think about Peng/Bartoli? Peng has been pretty solid. Think she can cover the +3?Comment -

#1411I thought about Peng, but went with the Pennetta one instead. At least for now, it looks like a good call. Was pissed f-ing 5Dimes was slacking with putting up the men's handicaps again. Wanted to take Petzschner + the games and it would have covered.
Zvonareva-Hantuchova is interesting since Hantuchova beat her in Pattaya. Most are banking on revenge and with how Vera played the other day + Hantuchova having to grind through a couple three setters ... could be right time for revenge. Hantuchova +4.5 though is one I am mulling over potentially. Gotta think on it.Comment -

#1412I've been debating Dani too as I've been riding her each match this week but the thing that worries me here is that she starts so damn slow. She looked putrid in the Aza match until she seemed to find a second gear somehow. If she does that again here, Vera could smack her as it seems she's finally stepped up and found some rhythm again. Still not sure but I think the over and the handicap are the plays. But because I want to keep playing at this credit book where I've been having a good run, I'll be on the ML if anything as they're not offering either of those.Comment -

#1423Think the ML was -390 Wozniacki and Pennetta +315 or so.
Well I said she needed to keep her break point opps into single digits and she has not. Giving Wozniacki too many cracks at breaks is not a good way to keep a match tight and Woz for her part has not been challenged on serve like I had hoped. Pennetta just hasn't been able to close out games either.
Don't even want to guide/misguide on totals. I have been way off on them this season, but Jankovic always seems a shot on overs to me.Comment -

#1427THURSDAY DEUCE: ALMAGRO + FISH [-142]
Almagro is certainly the in-form player on clay right now with 11 straight wins on the surface in 2011 and two titles to boot. Fatigue was certainly something to consider entering the week with two successive tournaments, but his quick work of both Hanescu & Volandri weren't much more than hour long practice sessions. Giraldo is a solid performer, but I THINK he's still a notch below Almagro on dirt. Giraldo had an easy time against Montanes in the 2nd round after a three set grinder in his 1st rounder. He's shown well and continues to improve on this surface, but I THINK Almagro's service game and confidence carry him today to another win. Fish draws Mello and I THINK this just isn't a great match-up for Mello. Said it before, Mello is one of those few Brazilians who has done his best work on outdoor hard courts like Delray Beach - but mostly in Brazil. I THINK Mello matches up well with players who lack the weaponry to expose Mello on this surface. Schuettler in the 1st round was one, although Schuettler skunked him in the 1st set. If you scan Mello's record on this surface, he does not yield good results against players like Fish who can dominate on serve and add big ground strokes. Fish should be keen here to carry through as this tournament void of star power is open for him to make a run. Fish isn't perfect, but on this surface since his fitness boost of 2010, he rarely loses to players who have less talent. If Fish sticks his serve today, I THINK he's a better fellow than Mello. Rhyme me.Comment -

#1430ATP DELRAY BEACH: FALLA +135
Falla draws Mannarino today. The Frenchman was fortunate to survive Mayer yesterday in a match where he struggled mightily to get anything off Mayer's serve for the better part of the first two sets. Still, he showed mental toughness in winning a 2nd set tie break and then came up with a big break to win the 3rd. Mannarino has some good stats on this outdoor surface, but of his 7-4 record in main draws this season - most have come at the expense of players getting in their first matches on the surface early in the year or against Challenger-level plays. Falla may not be accomplished on this surface, but he has had few issues in his run through qualis this tournament and his first round ouster of Hajek. Hajek lost the match and his lunch as he threw up on-court. Virus been going around the locker room reportedly. Mannarino falls into the category that I THINK I continue to like to fade: guys who win their previous match, but win LESS points than their opponent. Falla also sounds upbeat on Twitter and very happy with his game this week. If Mannarino doesn't bring his A game, I THINK Falla can pull off the upset.

#1432Not sure fatigue so much will be Mannarino's downfall, Match was only two hours and 14 minutes or so, not that lengthy by ATP standards. I more so just thought he struggled. Could have been due to switching back from indoor courts, but with Falla having a solid run and plenty of match-time on these courts .. worth a shot. Just gotta start fast and serve solid.Comment -
