I'm not watching but it's not surprising if that's the case. As I said a little earlier, she tends to start slow!

I feel good about her but all of my plays this week are small to medium since I don't trust any of the players to show up so I wouldn't say I feel overly confident. Ok about it though.

When the lines first started moving: Pfft, look at Soeda's odds now. Totally crunched. This is getting a little dodgy it seems? Over 50k matched at sub 1.40 (current Pinny price) and over 30k matched in the set betting market. The next highest amount matched for set betting on any other second round match at Newport is Fish v Devvarman, not even 2k....

Yeah, not at all. One Spanish forum poster said "Dabul told his sister and his poker friends that he's going to lose. Hope this helps." Obviously, hard to believe anything second hand when posted in forums, but given all the betting activity right now it's probably not far off. He's definitely not going to try, guess that's the danger when the Argentines rock up at small events with low prizemoney to play for.

Have to get in on these earlyish imo - occasionally they're a double bluff, or a prelude towards inplay dodginess (kim/istomin), or market manipulation (koellerer had one of those a few months back). I'd be even more worried about these after the Rochus match. At 1.75+ I'll happily slam big money on and take the risk - at the end of the day most of these are what they appear. At <1.4 not so happy with it though.

Very true, but Koellerer one in a million. More allegations against him today from that Braunschweig challenger against Rosol, he virtually makes a living off it. Very rarely these betting plunges come unstuck, and although the sub 1.40 doesn't seem like great odds, it would be highly unlikely that he doesn't "win". And, yeah, ATP will find nothing wrong. Dabul is no good, Soeda is a grass-court speciallist, and beating Dent here is like beating Fed at Wimbledon. He was a certainty. Right? :-O

Also picked out a lesser-known Argentine who has had one or two "dodgy" matches attributed to his name over the time (though one in particular that I remember - he won it, so obviously false claims). Or, it could've even been a reverse fix. Anyone following the scoring alone would've suggested that Soeda threw the match if anything. Clever on their part, but a real sting for most. Will be a lot of gutted punters out there, guess only Chrissy Rochus and Koellerer can really be "trusted" with this stuff.

Look at the market volumes on the match, if you follow tennis at all you'll know for any tournament other than a Grand Slam or the late rounds of a Masters that's just not right. As it turned out, it was total market manipulation as opposed to any information known about Dabul. Dabul is relatively useless on grass, and should've lost in the first round, instead he'll lose to Querrey or Brown in the third and pick up more money than he probably thought he would.

Yeah, I figure that's the best way to go. Although the majority of the time the 'fixed' player wins, it's when you jump on after the odds have already plunged and the reverse happens that you get killed. Friggin dodgy stuff.

The ATP has a review committee that looks into weird results and any allegations of fixing/betting. But they don't always get it right and in my opinion I don't think they always want to.

I don't really follow the doubles as closely as I probably should - mainly because half the time I can't bet on them at either of the two books I use for tennis unless it's a Slam or a larger tournament. TB may have an opinion though!!

I really like Schnyder and would probably take Pennetta as well if I had to choose. I may stay away from that match though just because the H2H is split and they're doubles partners although Dulko is in pretty bad form right now.
