Happy New Year to everyone! I lost against Federer 6-4, 6-2. Despite of the score and the loss, I'm not disappointed with the way I played.
First set was very high quality game. I lost my serve once from 40-0 lead but I didn't do much wrong in the next 5 points, Roger just played really well in those. I had a break point later to get the break back but I didn't convert that. I couldn't take any of my 4 break points and Federer took 3 out of 4, that obviously makes a big difference on the score board.
My first service game in the second set was only poor game in the match. After that it was tougher to challenge Roger because he could play even more relaxed when he was in lead. Over all Roger was in really good shape today. I have played him so many times so I know what I'm talking about and I can easily say that today he was playing really well, very tough to beat for anyone.
I'm over all happy with my form. I'm physically and mentally in good shape and I'm hitting the ball well. I will improve a couple of details in my game on the practice court and hopefully get a few more matches during next 1,5 weeks, then I'll be really ready to start playing in the first Grand Slam of the year in Melbourne.

Was £20 but dropped to 10. Look over the past week, I've had some incredible close losses....

Bogomolov lost to Harrison in a 3rd set tiebreak, he was 2.67
Tomlajovic lost to Keys in a 3rd set tiebreak, she was 3.73
Robin Haase lost to Garcia Lopez in a 3rd set tiebreak, he was 1.85

Tomlajovic was up a break and I hedged @3.8 but want to remain fair and keep the record for what I've tipped.

Few other bad strokes of luck as well earlier in the thread. That sort of thing won';t last and shit will spin, I'm sure. I know I'm good.

Kolly played with real intensity against Carreno Busta and he had to and now he's on the attentive and sharp ball, I can't see how he let's a decent claycourter affect his stride at a tournament he's been to the final and semi finals at. He has a brilliant backhand and the leftyness won't bother him. Zeb's here to collect the pay cheque and only won his first round match because he was oblidged to beating another player limited to clay but even more restricted on the hardcourts.

Typically Mahut is good indoors and on grass, outdoor hardcorut's less so because of either wind and hot weather, however these court's are fast and if he has a good serving day I fancy him to play better on the big points. The experience of winning 2 atp titles last season is priceless for those big points where he won't feel one bit anxious as this is nothing to him. Ryan will feel anxious and not make the serves under pressure. Neither are great return of servers but I feel Harrison is more prone to shooting himself in the foot when Mahut blocks serves back.

Agree with what you say, more talented and experienced.

Chardy played pretty well against Federer as well, so we can't go assuming Mahut was crap.

Dunno though, I'll just watch this one play out.
