It's not unheard of for the quarterfinal round to go by without seeing some extra time or penalties, but it is pretty rare. This was the one match that I had marked for one of those outcomes and I am sticking to my guns even if there are a lot of other people thinking the same thing. Some times, we're all correct.

#2. England to Win in Penalties +680 & Italy to Win in Penalties +722/0.25 unit each
If indeed this does play out to a draw in regulation, I would be surprised to see either team take many more chances and potential leave it for penalties to decide the winner. You should also likely have the option to bet this live at the end of regulation to cover for either to win in extra time although the odds will obviously be much less than their current prices of over +1000!

Didn't particularly like the corners today. England has not been very good at getting corners and this one could be lacking I think in quality attacks to yield corners. It will probably be close and of course if someone scores early, then you've got a good chance that you'll see more corners as one team becomes more aggressive likely.

6.27.12: Spain-Portugal 1st Goal Scored After 27th Minute [-125]
Expecting there to be a feeling-out process of sorts to start. I think Portugal will be sitting back to defend first as they did in the Germany match to open the tournament. Spain will be content to dominate possession and hope to get some early chances. They probably will have a few, but I am baking on Portugal being able to defend well early to try and frustrate the defending Champs and open them up to some counters as the match wears on.

Waiting for lineups to see if Spain is sticking the false-9 or not. Guessing they will. If that is the case, probably taking:

Think this is pretty generous given the scoring prowess of the Germans and the danger possessed by the Italians. Germany has scored in all four of their matches in the tournament with two or more in the last three straight. They have also shown a little leaky behavior defensively by allowing goals in each of those last three. The Italians failed to score against England, but looked dangerous the entire match. Prior to that, the Italians had hit for a goal in each of their first three matches @ EURO 2012. I don't think the Italians can be content to sit back in this one at all because the likelihood of shutting this German squad out is very low IMO. I think the Italians continue to take their chances and with the likes of Balotelli, Pirlo & Co. moving forward at times - I think they get at least one today.

Depends how the Italians come out and play, but I didn't see it as a great play. Germany hasn't exactly been generating a ton of corners other than the Greece match where they obviously were able to dominate the activity. I've actually seen a few tipsters take Italy + the handicap to win the corners battle as a bet, which is interesting. It will probably be close like yesterday's match, but yesterday I think ended at 9 after regulation.

I think we are in fantastic shape for this after that Balotelli goal. If Germany goes scoreless, so be it as the upset of the tournament but I can't see it as they have brought constant pressure already. Seems only a matter of time. Already a better match than all 120 minutes of yesterday!

If Italy plays like they did today, and hopefully scores an early goal, then we may get an entertaining final. When Spain presses and actually tries to score, it's high level soccer. The extra time yesterday was leaps and bounds more watchable than the first 90+ minutes.

Congrats to Italy backers, they deserved it. Was pulling for Germany, but they're rapidly becoming the Buffalo Bills of the soccer world.
