2. YES, in this exact scenario. It's not as if they were arguing over a girl in a bar or some other general street fight issue. He was engaged with what he thought was a criminal, 6'3'' tall, in the dark and was on the ground already being beaten. Whether or not he pulled the weapon for just that reason or for the reason he gave that Trayvon pulled his shirt up to quiet his screams and saw it and said he was about to kill him. If you wanna punch someone in the face or slap a move on that sprains/breaks an arm that is one thing and not rising to the level of shooting....but once you've landed enough punches to damage both eyes and nose, and then proceed to slam someones head to the concrete, that ups the stakes right there.

Why do you think in MMA matches you can do almost anything short of blows to the back of the head...with gloves on and a tight canvas floor....doesnt take much to do permanent/lethal damage like that so given the concrete sidewalk and an already beaten down Zimmerman, absolutley I would have done a controlled burst on Trayvon, two to the chest one to the head to be sure.
