Was at work on East 63rd street in NYC getting a cup of coffee from the Greek diner across the street. 1st plane hit was like wtf, 2nd one hit and had no clue what would happen next. Within an hour all you saw was fire engines and emergency vehicles heading downtown, and people in suits and dressed for work walking up town. Lost 2 HS classmates that day, one a firefighter the other worked for Cantor Fitzgerald. Getting home that day was an adventure to say the least.

Was glued to the TV for the rest of the day. What really pissed me off was when the fukking middle east was cheering
and burning our flags.
Got back to work and I guess one of the guys was busting on a middle eastern that works there. Instead of being calm,
this middle eastern c ock sucker makes a fukking paper airplane and throws it into the wall in front of the guy.
It took 10 guys to hold him back. Needless to say, the middle eastern didn't work there much longer. A US flag has been
at the employee entrance ever since.

Printing. Used to be 5 days a week until we had to work about every week end. People weren't getting time off,
is when they went 12 hours. Some would work 5-2, 4-3 or 7-7. I was 7-7. That 6th and 7th day were killer.

Got a call from a coworker of my dad that my dad was alright which woke me up.
He was set to take a plane out of JFK that morning.

It was the middle of the afternoon for us in the UK and was at work counting down the hours till I could go get a beer and someone came in and put the news on the big screen saying that a plane had hit the WTC. At this point the UK news were still saying it was thought to be a light aircraft but you could see from the smoke that it must have been a larger plane - then as we were watching you saw the 2nd plane hit and everyone went silent.
The thing I remember most about that day is that the UK News were pretty slow in reporting the updates of everything else that happened that day, and there was a thread on a different gambling forum (that I used to frequent back in the day) and I was just constantly hitting refresh to see find out what else was happening and found the info on there was a good couple of minutes faster than the UK news - when I saw on there about the one hitting the pentagon and told my workmates they still didn't fully believe me until the news showed it a few mins later.Comment -
