AUBURN, Wash. – A motorcycle rider was killed after someone dropped a bag of aluminum cans on State Route 167 Monday afternoon.

It happened just before 5 p.m. in the southbound lanes at the State Route 18 interchange.

Someone dropped the bag of cans, causing other cars to make a sudden stop, said Washington State Trooper Julie Startup. A motorcycle then rear-ended an SUV, causing the rider to fly off the bike.

The rider died at the scene. Nobody else was hurt.

Troopers are asking anyone with information on who dropped the bag of cans to call the Washington State Patrol.

Southbound SR 167 was closed for about 90 minutes, although traffic was allowed to get by on the shoulder.

frost, Im from Bakersfield and the sheriffs in this case have already been cleared. There is now a video of the incident from the gas station surveillance. In the tape, there is a 5 second clip missing from the whole confrontation.....Ill let you guess what happened in those 5 seconds.

The sheriff in Kern county in Infamous for these types of incidents...you can look it up anywhere. Sheriffs shoot first and ask questions later.

Wow, first time I've seen it. They had 3 Deputies their, including two CHP showing up just seconds later. These Cops had backup everywhere, since that area appears to be crime ridden, and so they could of easily subdue the man. The guy was already patted down, so he clearly had no weapons.
