anything if not done with self control will destroy ya. it's good that you can admit you have a problem tho. next step is trying to correct it. being on a gambling forum aint gonna make it any better for someone like you.

So you believe it is impossible to make a living gambling?
But how could that be possible considering 100 dollars a day is enough to survive
If you have a good sized bankroll how is it impossible to win 100 dollars a day?Comment -

#63For someone who started a thread about how gambling has ruined their life, you make it sound incredibly easy. How many people around here are up 365 units after a year? Don't list me guys that bet 10-20x a game.Comment -

#64WarriorFan - We've all been there bro. I understand what you're going through. Don't listen to half these idiots on here. They are probably in the same boat as you are emotionally.
1. Life is pressure. Gambling only adds to it. Some people do this for a high... some do it to fill a void in their life. Maybe 2-5% are actually very good at it. If things are hectic in your life... you need to step away. Rethink everything through. Get your rhythm back.
2. Women, GF's, Wives... etc. Have any of them? They are major distractions. LOL If they are also on your ass... you need to get rid of them. Period. LOL You aren't going to win anything with a nagging Bi#$# around. The only luck you have... is finding a chick who understands that gambling is full of pressures... and emotionally she can relate to what you're going through. But if you have a nagging B that says... TAKE ME TO DINNER... TAKE ME SHOPPING BLAH BLAH BLAH... how in the hell are you going to make your next play? it's impossible? It F's up everything!
Personally, I say F em. I'm here to make my own life sports wagering. If I want a Piece of ass... I'll get one. But ain't no B going to be on my ass 24/7 telling me what to do. You need to relax, refocus, and take the outside negative BS out of your life... whatever it is... that's probably what's effecting you.Comment -

#66You did it recklessly.
Last year was the first time I dabbled in gambling... started with the NBA playoffs... B4 I knew it I was up 2k. By the time the Finals were about to start... I had buried myself down 5k. I was as mad as I had ever been... didn't know what the f had happened. I only started because I was recovering from a broken collarbone and not working, at home in pain for weeks. A very bad couple of months.
But I calmed down and thought it threw. I couldn't bet any more at that point, I had to stop cold and get myself back in control and work myself back to the point where I could try it again and hopefully get a % of what I had lost back. I healed up and got back into my life and it went good, I would think about it... but just forced myself to stay away... even when the NFL started. I would only allow myself to dabble again when I had the extra funds to blow.
I did it. I am currently betting and blowing those funds away!!! I may end up making some back, probably not... but the 1 thing I know is that when I hit that limit I have made for myself... I will once again quit cold.
This is really just for some fun... sure, I'm losing these first couple of years, but I am better than last year and learning every day... sometime down the road, I will be winning and getting back what I lost in years past, just have to be very patient and in control (working on it).
I'm in control. You are in control... you need to be strong mentally. Work on that. You can do this and have fun, win or lose... and not have it affect your life with friends and family.

#69Hard to tell if you're being serious or not, because you're an interesting dude.
If you are, I wish you the best.
I've said it a million times on here: the chase is what gets us. The action. What you should concentrate on is turning a small profit every day. $20 a day on average is over $7,000 a year. $20. That's it. Sounds easy, but we all get caught up in chasing/doubling down/going for broke from time to time.
I honestly think if you do this as anything other than a light-hearted hobby, you're in for the kind of long-term pain and misery you're describing.Comment -

Im too greedy and I lack discipline for trying to make such a small figure.
Light hearted hobby? It seems to me like damn near all the people on here are pretty serious about trying to make a living doing this.
The most miserable part of all is thinking to yourself things like (Damn when I was up 5k I could have done this) or (I wish I would have done this differently)
Its all a psychological mindfuk of the worst kind.
Our time would be better spent doing other things.Comment
