Perfect time to bump this thread. I'll be dead in a week because damn gambling. Among other things. I wonder when I'm gone if people will wonder what name I use now.

Doubtful, as I've always been pretty straight up with people, and don't try to create much attention. I hope the OP of this classic is alright.

Not true. Gambled for 35 years. Would bet on anything from sports to how many steps it was to the parking lot. Finally decided I was sick and tired of always checking the lines, scores and outcome. Consumed my life and wasn't fun. Haven't bet for a while now. Feel like a million bucks and won't trade if for anything. Must admit that these type of threads confirm my thought process. Truth is I probably deserve it.

I recently had a nice run where I won about 4 grand.

Gave most of it back, spent some and am left with nothing to write home about it yet again.

Yet thats not what Im even talking about.

Gambling has destroyed my relationships with family, friends, it destroyed everything I have and ate through everything I had like termites.

The sad thing is I still believe that if I stay disciplined I can win, and that keeps me possibly going. The life I am currently living is agony and misery masked in a constant state of action and denial.

This is too deep and too disturbing to tell anyone in person of course as noone could possibly ever understand us and what we go through except unless of course you are one of us.

Gambling is evil. Noone wins in the long run. You have a nice run and you will end up giving it all back. Its inevitable.

We all have a disease people. We were all born with a goddamn disease.

Personally ur family sux if they turned their back on you for $4000 bux. Now iff jj loses his uncle eddies $25k retirement fund. Then yah. Jj sux hairy balls also.

You play you pay. The motto to live by. If loosing effects you in such a way to loose everything important in life then you shouldn't be gambling, it's as simple as that. If your putting gambling above your bills and well being then you shouldn't be gambling. Basically if you can't except the outcome of a loss then don't gamble it's fairly simple.
