AOC: Seven federal prosecutors, the Acting U.S. Attorney, and the Assistant U.S. Attorney all gave up their entire careers rather than drop these charges because of what they saw.
This is important not just for the city of New York but for the people of the U.S.
These are not Democratic U.S. Attorneys; these are Republican U.S. Attorneys who have trained under Republican-appointed Supreme Court justices.
Instead of carrying out the erosion at the DOJ, they would have preferred to give up their entire careers..

Kelly, do you want to work at a place that is being shot up or firebombed? That is actual terrorism, not your make believe economic terrorism, i.e. pushing for government efficiency and laying off unnecessary government workers.
Do you think America is the only place that had those things? Do you think the USSR or Mao's China had anything resembling those things? You do realize Brazil had slavery roughly 100 years more than America, and got 6-7 African slaves for every 1 slave sent to America, right? You do realize that the indigenous people of Brazil were forced into slavery, right? Look up the plight of the Tupi people. Scholars estimate that within 300 years of the Portuguese arriving in Brazil, the indigenous population had dropped by 80%-90%. Look up the Botocudo Wars, look up what “bugreiros” means and what they were hired to do to people like the Kaingang and Xokleng Tribes. Even European immigrants to Brazil had a horrible time, so much so that multiple European countries restricted immigration to Brazil or other Latin American countries due to the reported brutal conditions people were living in there. If that made countries rich, Brazil should be wealthier than the United States, but it wasn’t and it isn’t. The reason is because America embraced individual freedom and private property rights, i.e. capitalism much more than Brazil or the other Latin American nations. So I’ll ask you again: Up to that point in history, where did the average person have a higher standard of living than the United States, and why were people moving here and not there?
Do you know why they care so much about that? Because the government is so big and powerful! If it was smaller and really couldn’t do a whole lot, there wouldn’t be a reason to influence the political landscape.
Please explain to me how hiring people I don’t need and paying them way more than they can produce will help me. While we're at it, tell me how a country like India, where the GDP per capita is less than $10 a day, would successfully implement laws like that. Yeah, it’s just so simple, just have every country on the planet pass a law saying everyone has the right to a job that pays a living wage, and global poverty will come to an end. Why didn’t someone think of this sooner?
If misgendering will cause transgenocide, or is hate speech or misinformation, then according to the guy you voted for to be VP, people should be punished by the state. Again, I’m not for the tariffs, and again, if the government did a good job with the money we sent in, we wouldn’t need most government spending and most taxes.
Oh, okay then, so if your house is burned to the ground, it won’t bother you at all since you have insurance. It might take months to get that check and you might have to move to a new area, but you’ve got insurance so it's okay.
It wasn’t because of price gouging, it was because of high demand and people not working. They’re not able to collude now, and just to be blunt, it’d probably be better for people if they quit eating all that processed crap.
They haven’t actually cut anything yet, and those things wouldn’t be needed for the most part if the government did a good job with the money we sent them.
Say it all you want the question is pointless.
Sounds like double speak.
I still say you would not have any of what you have without the infrastructure that was put in place to help you get there.
If you want to believe in fear mongering BS, be my guest. If the government wasn't controlled by rich people it would be better for everyone.
Dude, nobody is going to burn my house down. Again pointless.
Yes it was price gouging. Yes it would be better if food manufacturers didn't put that shit in our food to make more profits.
Yes, if the government wasn't controlled by greedy rich people who don't want to pay tax's those things wouldn't be a problem. The house has already passed a budget that cuts billions of dollars to those programs.
I mean you sound in favor of most of this garbage they are doing, you're not going to convince me of this garbage. Lets just see how your anarcho-capitalism utopia turns out for the next 4 years. If I'm wrong, I would admit it. If your wrong, you will remain oblivious.

In the not too distant future, the US then can send another country this new equipment, which in a few years with be their 'older equipment', they are creating today and replace this newer older equipment with even newer stuff which will create jobs and ... (wait I have to see how you phrased it. Oh ya) ... building bigger better stronger. Brilliant. Or they can just leave it behind for the enemy to have, like they did in Afghanistan. Either way.
Also, you are correct the US isn't sending any soldiers ... yet.

SCOTUS denies Trump’s request to lift order requiring release of $1.5 billion in foreign aid
The U.S. Supreme Court denied the Trump administration’s request to block the release of over $1.5 billion in USAID funding for nonprofits and government partners. The lower court’s order to release the funds remains in effect.
Election officials say cuts to CISA are already affecting operations
State and local election officials said cuts to the nation’s cybersecurity agency, CISA, are already affecting their operations.
“Right now, we are effectively flying blind,” said Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes (D) to Democracy Docket. “And it's just bonkers that the administration wants to stop doing the things that we were doing to protect against foreign interference and these purposeful, targeted, intentional attacks against our democracy.”

Trump Blames Democrats for Looming Shutdown While Republicans Control Congress
Putin notably has not made any ceasefire offers since Trump assumed office on January 20.
Kremlin officials instead formally rejected the possibility of a ceasefire on any terms other than Ukraine's and the West's complete capitulation in late February 2025.
