Several weeks ago, the Nasdaq, S&P 500, and Dow all hit record highs. It’s likely that there will be a pull back in markets because they have run up quite fast over the last year, especially technology stocks. But despite Trump saying the stock market would tank if Biden got elected, and despite all of the experts predicting a recession for the past two years, and despite the Federal Reserve raising interest rates at a pace not seen since the high inflation of the early 80’s, the stock markets and housing markets have continued to rise, lifting people’s investments with them.

Considering that he inherited a mismanaged pandemic and the inflation that came after shutting down the global supply chains for months, and in the case of China well over a year, the Biden Administration has managed the economy quite well. Inflation has come down (albeit not yet to 2%), job openings far outnumber people looking for jobs, there has been investment in America’s aging infrastructure, which creates jobs, there have actually been investments made in manufacturing plants in the U.S. again, etc. Things can always change going forward, but for three years the so called experts have basically been wrong. I guess they figure if they keep predicting a recession they are bound to be right .

All that said, with all three markets at record highs, now is not a good time to go all in on stocks. I am waiting for a healthy 5-10% pull back at this point.

Another good article explaining why people will say things in the country are bad but when asked about the country generally, will also say that they are doing alright. For a lot of these people, I d even hypothesize that the vast majority of people they know are doing just as good if not better than they are. Yet they will still say the economy is bad when asked. What do you mean by gouging?They raised prices as much as they can get away with? Like I wrote, if they can't get enough employees, that money earmarked for employees doesn't get spent as much and goes into the profit column. If they also have to raise prices to temper demand so they're not running out of their product, they can make more profit. That doesn't mean they're gouging, it means they're trying to keep their business afloat.

Trump has a history of fukkig businesses in NYC. After years of screwing them over, he couldn't get business to work with him. They distrusted him and knew he would not pay. I know a couple that Trump never paid for their services. They ended up filing bankruptcy, had to pay their workers out of their own money because Trump fukked them and wouldn't pay for their work. Relax, my statement is not about Trump. It is simply about the inside-out rot of life long politicians and Washington DC. I’m on the record for many years not supporting either candidate. Trump is what he is and was that long before he became president. All that is irrelevant. I have never voted for Trump or backed the other guy. I do 100% believe most politicians are crooks, play dirty and operate in the grey area of the law. Decent people or not, the very essence of politics is telling you everything is great. Absolutely. As for knowing politicians- my YPO partner is a former Governor and my company developed talking points for over a dozen candidates on both sides of the aisle. You do not know what goes on behind the curtain. They make less than us and live larger than us for a reason.
