DTI based, Debt To Income ration. It's hard to get chapter 7 these days. chapter 11 or 13 basically screws you in the ass.

i know of some who have done it a couple of times. they seem to get away with it. i think it is hard to prove someone is maliciously doing it rather than doing it out of stupidity or mismanagement of funds.

Great question. Not really sure. I think people get away with what they can. If they can get $100k in credit they do and rack it up.

I agree with you. I would think there’s a file somewhere but the laws are probably loose. Meaning- it just falls off your credit report. Maybe a public record?! Unfortunately- there is probably more of this than we think and people that do the right thing end up ultimately paying for it in fees and interest rate points.
