I sell stuff online too so it’s more of a hundreds of dollars of difference in profit over being cheap. I’d prefer Fed-ex but they and ups are pains in the ass to ship from where I live. Fed-ex is liable to use usps too. But ya if you have one thing use Fed Ex. Haven’t had problems with usps priority until recently.

Still not here. Tacking says at facility...and "out for delivery" for like 8 straight days.

We also deliver several packages for ups and fedex (called the last mile) where it is not feasible for them to deliver to from a logistics stand point..they pay a cheap rate to pass their parcels onto us...we deliver ups on Sundays, we go to far out rural areas, etc..Some routes have almost 1000 delivery points a day.

Oh and the argument about whether we are government or not.. technically we are "quasi-federal" employees. Look it up.

As an aside, Dec 23rd, I ordered 3 separate items sent USPS. I was in no hurry to receive the orders but all three items arrived on Dec 26th. from Chicago, Orlando and L.A.

I ordered a gift on 12/11/2020. Not here. I didn't get a choice in shipping but told yeah tough crap about the kid not getting his gift.

I ordered a gift that was shipped 3 day priority on 12/12/2020. Still not here. It took 6 days to go from Tempe, AR to LA, the last time it was scanned on 12/18/2020. I sent an email and got a call from my local post office basically telling too bad, so sad, and screw you. I mean, you have 1 job. Deliver stuff that people pay to send. If you can't do that, then you need to be fired. The end.

So count me as 1 of the pissed off people with the USPS. If and when I have to re-order my sister's gift, I will ask the nice lady who made it to ship it any other way than USPS. If I can not give them any business ever again, I am happy with that. Just shut them down and fire them all.

I didn't buy anything on Ebay... but several of my friends are saying.... several items they've purchased are delayed. We're talking 10 days. That's ridiculous.

yea. People acting like this happens every year. It doesn’t. Fed-ex and ups have routed some of their volume through usps as well.

I also did work for USPS a few years back. Their volume doubles at the holidays, and with Covid this year, it likely is 3 and 4 times the usual holiday volume in December. They had no chance to succeed this holiday season. USPS hires thousands of "temp" workers just to throw packages in the sorting facility during regular holiday seasons.

I can't imagine how much mail/packages is piling up in the biggest hubs. Eventually, they will catch up but it'll take a couple months.
