Simple question: when we look back at these lockdowns, will we find the cure to covid was worse than the disease itself?

Let's take all of these into consideration:
-Mental Health toll of not seeing family and friends
-Job loss and poverty resulting from the lockdown
-Closure of local businesses, while large corporations thrive
-Suicides that will result from the 3 things above over the next few years

I want to know what you think. I don't want people to die, but at what cost are we willing to destroy our economy?

It's not possible to make progress when only half the country is interested in cooperating. Yes, you can at least partially blame the gun-toting racists and their dear leader. They've hurt the cause for the greater good. Unfortunately, that means everyone else suffers the consequences.

Oh, and don't forget the inept nature of the White House. Pfizer offered to sell the U.S. government more doses of a vaccine. That is a fact that cannot be refuted. Trump said "no" and then Pfizer went to others, which put the U.S. at the end of the line.
