First, that would be authoritarian, not necessarily communism. All communism is authoritarian but not all authoritarian gov’t are communist...

Second, we have to make sure hospitals have room for critically sick patients, not just covid but anyone that gets sick. And yes, that is the role of the government.

Anyone saying hospitals make money off covid is a fukkin idiot. Hospitals are losing their ass over this. Covid alone loses them money even though reimbursement is higher.

The real problem though is hospitals are canceling their cash cow surgeries and procedures as to not overload their system. Someone may need bypass surgery but not urgently, so they’re getting bumped because that would take a bed up for 4-5 days.

And thats a TON of lost revenue

Last I checked hospitals are not overwhelmed in all States. We have plenty of ventilators to go around. If one hospital gets jammed up they send patients to a neighboring hospital.

Better drugs now to fight this virus, 99.5% won't die from it. No need to shut down anymore.
