I'm not surprised. There has only been an increase of cases for 3 months. It hasn't gone down or even plateaued. But, the good thing is that deaths have not gone up. They have been pretty steady for the last 2 months; hopefully, for many reasons, that number doesn't go up.

their average deaths per day are not rising though so who cares? california's average new cases per day have doubled since late april and during that same time period their average deaths per day have decreased by around 25%.

either the increased cases are from extra testing or the virus is just less deadly now. it could also be that these states are not shipping covid patients into nursing homes.
