This is true except nobody is talking about hiding at all times. We've been on a recommended lockdown for all of 3 or 4 weeks.

Besides, the invention and popularization of hand sanitizer has already caused a generation of allergies, but the lockdown we're discussing aren't for the length of time you make them out to be.

That is also why nobody is talking about it, it's not relevant at this point.

Getting sick and even dying isn't the problem, overwhelming the healthcare system is the problem, causing needless death...also a problem.

You don't "practice" herd immunity.

But for it to be achieved it will cost more than 20x the lives already lost.

I studied psychology and we briefly tapped into a phenomena. It's one where the reaction of some people will always be negative. If the gov't shuts down and numbers are low, some will think the gov't went overboard (ignoring the fact that the move was designed to lower the numbers). If the gov't stays open and many die, then they will think the gov't didn't do enough.

The gov't can't win and what we get is everyone, no matter what they believe, start thinking the gov't did them wrong.

We are seeing that phenomena play out among the publics of most many western nations.

It also plays out on the internet as well.

maybe in NY....but none of the 63 hospitals that I have as clients have had anything bad. Many of them have had the lowest ER and ICU numbers ever in their existence. All the Covid did was scare the people with actual problems into coming to the hospital. Not fake news but also not worthy of a world shutdown.

It was a good test on how the worlds' governments can control the masses pretty easily

Hospitals here in the Bay Area aren’t bad at all. We’re ready and honestly, we’re all half full. On the business side of things we’re struggling because other than Kaiser, we’re all fee for service and we’ve cancelled our money making elective procedures. Money makers in a hospital are outpatient/same day procedures. We get to bill high rates but spend hardly any resources on that person. All of that is a standstill right now.

So in that sense, ya its bad. Nurses are being laid off, hours cut, taking reductions in pay etc

But from a covid sense, theres only one hospital I know of that is being hit hard and thats Regional in San Jose, and thats only what I’ve heard. Last a friend told me was they had 60 codid patients with 34 on ventilators and 4 on full blown life support with bypass machines.

Stanford is getting hit hard just because they’re the regional referral hospital and get the toughest casss dumped on them but even they havent been hit as hard as they expected, so nurses are being forced to take a day a week off and use PTO.
