On some of these occasions when I've gotten somewhat uncomfortably high I would listen to music with headphones on. I remember a few times specifically when I seemed to develop a sort of superpower where I could hear each instrument individually very cleanly. It was as if each instrument was completely separate from the others... it's difficult to explain. I could even hear precisely where they were in relation to each other... and I wasn't even watching video.

Anyway... the first time this happened to me I was going through all these different songs on my MP3 player. Some bands sounded almost the same to me but with others they sounded SOOO much more rich. The Lemonheads for example... are one of my favorite bands ever but they sounded almost the same. But the Killers really sounded amazing... SOO RICH. So much going on and in this state I could hear everything individually. There were some other bands and songs that had the same effect on me as well... but I definitely remember The Killers being one of them. I haven't been able to duplicate this experience quite like I did several years ago. Maybe it was just really good weed... it doesn't work as well if you smoke every day though. And for me... I had to be sort of uncomfortably high for it to really work well.

Anyone else have a similar experience while high?
i haven't been blazed since 2012...by my choice alone. that will soon change when i leave FL & hopefully grow my own.
anyways, not sure if it's as extreme as you describe, but i hear music that way anytime it is w/HQ headphones. i've definitely had some very extreme examples of that at live Phish shows i attended w/a very "fun guy." <---i may have misspelled that

HQ headphones that cover the ears entirely do so much to enhance the listening experience! i think too many people miss out on that. i've tried out some ear buds in the past, but they just don't cut it. these appear to be a newer model of what i've been using for past 8 years (well worth $20)...

Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for Skullcandy HESH Carbon/Red Headband Headsets at the best online prices at eBay! Free shipping for many products!

ive heard "experts" say that headphones actually sound better used than new.

The Doors rock! Ray is a stud...i love how he play bass lines w/left hand. i use to play drums in an instrumental duo w/a keyboardist who did the same.
      I 100 percent get it.
The Killers don't do it for some music experts either.
There's some super bands I never got either, I can respect all points of views.
Yeah, Brandon Flowers used to play a shit load of keys live, not as much now.

I personally was a trombonist, my influence was James Pankow of Chicago.
Love jazz/rock, but like I said the hard rockers aren't much into jazz/rock, I understand this, I get it.
It's all subjective and comes down to individual taste which nobody has the right to criticize.
Hey, I don't like spinach, but if you I say go for it.

2 songs is a small sample size i could name dozens of bands that took a while to grow on me. 1 example is GnR. i hated them when they 1st came out in mid/late 80s...all my friends loved them. but i had only heard the radio stuff: Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, & Sweet Child..all 3 songs i've never liked & never will. then they eventually grew on me when i heard Mr. Brownstone & It's So Easy. i'm still not a fan overall, but i respect some of their stuff.

trombonist ay? listen to any reggae? check out my boys from Cali...the greatest white boy reggae band ever. Beastie Boys are to rap/hip hop as Groundation is to reggae...if you catch my drift. i was their unofficial videographer when i lived in Cali...got into all the shows for free w/t freedom to film as i please. they are huge in Europe and pack large venues...but in their home country (USA) they play clubs mostly.

i bet you havent heard many songs that start off w/a trombone solo...

Earlier in the thread I mentioned Fountains of Wayne as one of my honorable mentions as one of my favorite bands. Well, sadly one of the main members... Adam Schlesinger died today from Covid19 complications. Fountains of Wayne is another one of those bands that sound absolutely fantastic while high. If you like Weezer... you may like Fountains of Wayne. Their first album is one of my favorite albums of the 90's. It's alternative pop at it's finest in my opinion. R.I.P. Adam.

sadly, we are all likely to lose some artists, heroes, etc. that we adore during this crisis

Hell yeah man. I'm bummed about Adam Schlesinger's untimely death. Guy was an all-around pop music genius and wrote or contributed to so so many things outside of Fountains of Wayne too

I read in NME a few months back that the only two music genres that turn a profit now are Country and Hip Hop.
Rock is dead. (or so they say)

to be more accurate...i will never like the GnR versions (Axel's vocals). i just remembered there is bluegrass version of Paradise City i use to have on a mixed cd from late 90s. couldn't find it on youtube, but i found a Hayseed Dixie version of Welcome to the Jungle...

Not disrespecting Jerry and the Dead, but no band could jam like the Allmans.
Phish has their fan base but highly overrated (my opinion only again)
Blues Travelers very underrated jam band and extremly talented, Black Crows too.
