If Derailer came to SBR complaining a book would not pay him due to multi accounting, SBR would ask the book for proof of that.

Especially if it was to rescind a prize after the result was known and when the book had plenty of time to detect this in advance.

If he is so clever SBR can't come up with the same level of evidence a book would be asked for, it would be super hypocritical to not pay the guy.

It's always one guy that ruins the fan for everyone. Years ago trixtrix stole thousands of points from SBR Sportsbook and everyone said no big deal..pay him the points and nothing will happen. What happened is the prize of pizza went up 4X in 8 years. The point is if someone scams SBR the prize to be paid is by all the Pros who see the prices at the SBR Store keep rising to make the program affordable. So you have to be vigilant when you see fraud and don't reward the frauds. We are all paying for their winnings one way or the other. Your Pro membership is devalued when frauds are rewarded.

You can’t penalise people for sharing picks. Just like you can’t for when two or three at the top agree to not make anymore plays and chop the prizes amongst themselves. It’s probably bad sportsmanship and leaves a crappy taste in most people’s mouths but it isn’t fraud. SBR and especially Lou aren’t stupid... things will be changed, updated, etc to do our best to prevent this happening ever again. But you can’t turn to someone and say well yeah you won but because you were making picks for more than one account you don’t get to cash. We don’t have rules against that - yet at least although that’d still be so subjective and hard to prove - so you can’t punish someone for finding a way through. Our downfall was that apparently one or more members of staff may have known this was a ghost account and despite our recent change of stance on letting banned accounts back, I think this highlights what the potential traps are when we second guess ourselves or ignore what’s right in front of our eyes. From my limited interactions through the years though I don’t for one second believe IAG had a moment of ill will or bad intentions. I do hope she at least gets half the cash though!!

Members are generally only perma-banned ("perma" in forumville is normally a year or two, depending the offense) for serious infractions. Derailer wasn't barred from future contests for having a handle previously.

Buffalo Nickle was banned on 7-17-17, he Re-Joined as R-40 (the next day) 7-18-17, after I figured that one out, R-40 was banned on 10-3-17, Derailer joined..... you guessed it 10-4-17.

Derailer would make up another Ghost Account (Danica Fantasica) using his sisters info, when he saw it was gonna cash by angle shooting with 3 different accounts in the Nascar Contest he got his sister to Go Pro. He would go on to ask his friend from across the street IAG if he could make picks under her name in a Nascar Contest & ultimately BTP.

IAG was unaware of the other 2 ghost accounts, But....she did admit across the street that she agreed to let BN make picks under her name as she felt he was banned here for no good reason. When she was caught assisting BN, she told him to come clean & clear her name. Sorry lady but you still a POS for helping the scammer in the first place and deserve NOTHING.

I’m serious. I actually read the whole thread across the street. My interpretation of the events was that the guy was banned for being stiffed on a loan & contest, mods took the side of the poster so that started the chain of events for where he wanted to get whatever he could out of sbr.

Pavy, you’re much smarter than this. I didn’t say I didn’t see anything wrong with it. In fact I probably was a shithead by acknowledging publicly that a coworker/s maybe dropped the ball here. But again: you can go tell every one of your family members OUTSIDE of your home to sign up for a contest at a book and feed them plays all day long.

Other than John’s Xmas pardons or when a staff member has reacted emotionally, I never believe anyone should be unbanned. You were shitcanned for a reason and I trust my colleagues on that! On the other hand you get glimpses of people let back who really add value to our forum so hopefully that lasts. Catch 22 I suppose.
