Are they really going to pay McDonald's workers $15 an hour? Most of them are borderline retarded. I'm not trying to be mean but one time the girl didn't know how much change to give me from an order because the cash register wasn't working. She had to go back to get a calculator. There is something seriously wrong with paying these people 15 an hour.

Most McDonald's cashiers will eventually be replaced by self-serve kiosks. In Canada, Cineplex (the largest chain of cinemas in the country) already has this transition well under way. When the minimum wage increase came into effect they also hiked prices across the board and laid off 800 employees, and reduced the hours for remaining staff.

You're going to pay 10 dollars for any 'combo'
24 hour Wendy's here when I work late a baconator combo with large FF and large coke is 9.92
I think BK gets the same for their Whooper combo's, I only eat Wendy's though and not often, I don't want my wife to be a widow.

a year or two ago alot of the fast food places got rid of the $ stuff and made it all 1.39 etc. Now theyre all trying to push that $4 or $5 meal deal stuff.

That happened to me 3 days ago, total was $7.01, I hand guy $10.01 he didnt take the penny only the 10 bucks, I wave to get his attention because I see he's trying to give me back $2.99. He takes the penny and hesitates, looking down at the change register, then I see a guy walk behind him and tell him to give me 3 bucks back.

They all make their coin on the fountain drinks.
The big cup costs them a nickel, the soda costs them 20 cents (if that) and pass the saving on to you for 1.99 for a large coke.

I use to talk to an owner of an Italian eatery, he told me pasta dishes were a gold mine.
He bought good pasta in bulk for about 22 cents a pound, sauces weren't expensive either, and he'd sell a nice pasta dish for 14.95 that cost him maybe 3.50 to make.

Nobody will eat the old Quarter Pounder with a couple of pickles and a squirt of ketchup and mustard or the Big Mac with the secret sauce. That's considered dog food. Gotta pay for the angus beef and lettuce and tomatoes. People want the good stuff even at McDonald's.

                                That's a good plan.
You can eat pasta at home for maybe under 4 dollars home made, depends on what you want.
A good steak meal I have no problem spending cash for.

Haven't eaten at McD in 20 years. They had some Angus burgers for a while but looks like they took them off the menu. People are more than willing to pay up for fast food these days. Not many budget-minded eaters even in fast food. McD has been trying to improve quality because people aren't interested in saving money and will drop $5 on a sandwich, burrito or Chick-Fil-A without thinking twice. McD has been getting clobbered.

OP I am with ya! I got some fries and shake the other day and it was $7 WTF maybe I'm getting old but was pretty shocking I remember the meals were like 4.99 for burger soda and fries.

Pretty insane prices for Meh food.

And for you basement dwellers that say "why eat at mcdonalds omg its so bad bla!!" STFU everyone has to eat some quick garbage once in awhile. OP is right Mcd used to be awesome and now is a sh!t show.

Back when they were running 2 for $4 fish sandwich special a couple months ago, I ordered one fish sandwich and one cheesburger. They charged me $3.69 for the fish sandwich. When I questioned the price, they said you have to buy 2 fish sandwiches to get them for $2 each.

I told them when I go to the grocery store and buy Minute Maid juice, they are 2 for $4 and If I buy one it is only $2.

So I am like, well, how about I give you 31 cents and you give me another sandwich then? They ended up giving up giving me a second fish sandwich for free.

The 20 nuggets for $5 was good deal

800 calories, eat that and be full for cheap

Skip the fries, actually cut some weight and save $$$

recently started eating fast food during the work day cause im usually too drunk to get groceries on my days off and was surprised how expensive it is

at dq i ordered a chicken sandwich and about a handful of fries, cost around 8 bucks

i think the brisket sandwich at arby's is $7

there's a little wop shop around where i can get real food for the same price or less

If you're going to eat at any fast casual place, download their app. Takes a minute and you can get mega deals. Whenever I'm in the mood for fast food, probably once every other week or less, I either go with Wendys or BK.

On wendy's app can get either a free fry with any purchase or a cheeseburger with any purchase. Thus, buy the fry or burger, get other free, so $3 for the meal (I don't need drink, I only drink water).

BK has a $3 double cheeseburger meal on their app at all times. Not a fan of mcdonalds but they often have even better deals.

On Potbellys sandwich app, buy one sandwich get one free or a soup free like every other week promo. Good for two meals for $7.

If you're looking for food at a local bar or restaurant, the spotluck app will get you 10-20% off many places, with a cool wheel you spin 1/day and get an extra discount at one random restaurant, say 25%, the others 10-15%.

Finally, if theres a restaurant you ALWAYS eat at locally, say for lunch, you can get restaurant gift cards for 10-25% off online.

PS My FAVORITE go to for a quick snack is actually one that will shock you. SAFEWAY has the most delicious breakfast burrito for only $3. Sausage or bacon, pepperjack cheese, egg yellow or egg white, potatoes, Ranch or chipotle sauce all on a wheat tortilla. It's huge, 800 calories. At my last job I bought them for coworkers on several occasions. Just give each person half of one, $1.50/person, and you've made their morning.

The most shocking thing of this post though is that I'm actually in shape and somewhat skinny. Obviously if on a date do not pull out some savings app or gift card, that looks cheap af, but if on your own, save save save. It adds up. Use those extra funds for traveling.

Surprising to hear about any sort of food that is more expensive in USA than Australia.

But a medium size Big Mac meal is about US$7 down here.

Entry level wages are about US$15/hr for their staff.

Same price for a decent lunch at Chilis or Applebees. I order off the value menu three small burgers and a water... less food that sucks less cost.

                                                                        Sharp as fck. Good post.
