Tipping by % is one of the dumbest thing and it happens only in USA and Canada. Restaurants already mark up all the prices and they expect you to pay their staff. Nowadays every atm machine offers tip as an option before you complete the payment because they did a study and psychologically even who doesn't tip will put in something.

Tipping is basically indirectly forced. It should be optional. Sure that 10 or 15% can be standard but there should be a cap. For example, If i spend 1 hour in a restaurant and rack up a bill for $100, sure 10% or 15%. But if i got there and spend 1 hour and decide drink a $1000 heavily marked up wine instead of $100 wine, and spend 1 hour, the waiter did the exact same job. I don't need to pay 10 or 15% of $1000. I can still leave a $10 or $15 tip. I can even leave 0 tip if i want.

Just because the guy is worth millions doesn't mean they have to tip it to randoms in restaurants for doing their job....that money would be well worth given to the needy. Lebron has a lot of charities, he definitely doesn't need to pay the salary of some restaurant worker.

If you go anywhere else int he world the waiters don't expect a tip and they are lot more friendlier and zero attitude. Most waiters in usa/canada or so fake just trying to get tips and if they don't get their way they would be rude as penetrate with attitude.

Eating out is EXPENSIVE...yes customers pay their waiters salary this is true...if you accept this go to the restaurant if not go to McDs or eat at home...you know the system and if you disagree with it then simply don't eat out and stiff your waiter as it's not a "tip" it's their pay. Bitching about the fact that food is marked up is ridiculous...of course it's marked up do you think they run a nice restaurant offering free cooking for charity? If you want a charity restaurant just go down to the soup kitchen and eat there...the food is free and no tips.

Alcohol is normally excluded from tip...tip 20% of the food you eat. If you only come in to a restaurant to get sloppy fuckin drunk and eat nothing then at least throw a fiver or something the waiters way.

Is this weirdos effort to serve you and basically be a stripper not worth 5 bucks? Again unless you're rich you're not going to be going out to restaurants where tipping is expected much anyway so pick another way to save 5 bucks every couple weeks

Here's my take as someone who just moved here to Vegas, 3 years ago.
I've served tables for over 20 years.

Its really not about if they are black ore not, its behavior.
I see alot of black people in my place.
Too many to make a generalization on the skin color.

Plenty of nice, and plenty of ratchets.
I can tell who's gonna tip by how they act, black or not black.

In south Carolina the hourly wage is 2.13 hr for waitstaff. You tip because the experience was very rewarding and service top.notch. there is also an inner good feeling mist get from tipping. 15 to 20 percent is enough.

That's because they are too stupid to unionize and get paid a living wage from their employer. Even waiters are embarrassed of being waiters, otherwise they would do something about their wage. If they then give great service, which is actually a rarity unlike what most people claim, then they can get a little something.

Full disclosure though I waited tables in college and I got some good tips from blacks. I remember one young black woman in particular, it was just her and her baby in a carrier. She told me she wanted to change her order after it had been in for awhile and there was a misunderstanding so her food was delayed quite awhile. I figured she wouldn't tip me or not tip much. Ended up she tipped me really well. IDK maybe she wanted white rooster

I also had a white man with a party of about 10 that looked like they just came from church. He made a point to tell me how good of a waiter I was and proceeded to leave me about $2 I think

We were at an applebees going back a ways and the lady at the table next to us (Black family) had her kids running all over the place . One even came to our table and started hitting the buttons on the order things that are on the table wanted to smack the brat. She did leave a tip and they left. A couple minutes later the same brat that came to our table earlier came running back in and up to the table and was going to grab the tip money . The waitress saw him heading for it and cut him off and grabbed it first. I always now hand the person the cash for a tip and write "Cash" on the receipt .
