Several Pizza Huts in Memphis have quit offering delivery bc no delivery drivers will work there as they were robbed more often than they were tipped and after paying for gas and car maintenance were essentially working for free.

I used to waiter when I worked 2 jobs about 15 years ago. Not many black couples came to our restaurant, but when they did, I would say they tipped an average of 8-10%. A lot of them were high maintenance tables on top of that.

We've actually had a couple of restaurants in our suburb that eventually closed down after their staffs became majority black. Not saying its right, but it is what it is. Both Taco Bell's in our town have high percentage black crews. Coincidentally, the service has gotten worse, and their business has gone down. People at my work don't have 20 minutes to wait on a couple of 5 layer beefy burritos.

There was a black guy named Bernie who used to eat at the steakhouse I worked at back in the 90's/early2000's. He would come in several times a week with his mother and they would each get the 12 ounce sirloin medium well with sides of mushrooms. Their bill was usually around $35 and he always left a $10 tip and sometimes would even tip the cooks $5 on top of that. Bernie was retired from the gas company and wasn't super financially well off or anything but leaving a $10 tip(and sometimes $15) on a $35 check was pretty generous.
