Sup, fellas? So earlier tonight, like five hours ago, tripped over something while running and broke my fall with the heels of both hands. Small cuts on each. One hand seems to hurt a little more than the other, and tender near the cut. Looks like some swelling but not too much. No bruising or anything. Can move everything. Hurts a little lifting something but not insane. Little tender in the palm when making fist but nothing crazy.

Do I just take Advil and wait that out or do you have to go to ER for x-ray?

Unless it is serious there isnt a lot they usually can do anyway.

I'd wait and see if the pain subsides before bothering to go for an xray personally. But if it increases at all then chances are you have fractured something.

Kraken can confirm but from my understanding if you are younger (ie under 29 i believe) and it is broken they can set the plaster to give the bone maximum chance of healing itself...

Imo Opti is right. You may have a hairline fracture or something, you'd know all about it if it were broken really unpleasant. Hands are full of tiny bones to crack and putting going into cast is a massive pain and overkill for anything other that a proper break.

Super easy to strap your wrist on your own as well. Don't use tape just the bandage stuff, really helps especially if you want to carry on with activities/sports or whatever.

If Acoochy is right I'm screwed when I'm older, too much skateboarding and snowboarding is brutal on wrists/thumbs!

I just meant if it is minor (which it sounds like, or you would be at the ER already) they are only going to give your painkillers. But if you snapped something off and it affects a blood vessel it can become serious fast. So don't be a hero if the pain increases.

Gaucho, myself and the rest of the medical team worked hard, we battled for Capy. But the wounds were too much to overcome. He never felt any pain after he OD'd on advil, he died in peace.
