That's the point man. They may have another season but it will be a new story and characters and everything. Think "American Horror Story". But this way they can get sweet actors like Matthew McConaghuey and not shitty washed up ones like Gary Sinise and other guys on TV shows. It's a great idea to bring in some huge talent for a single season of television where they are the stars. Also just new stories and new everything every year or so. That's refreshing and nice.

but this one has got my attention , tuning in every week watching the episode at least twice.....

hmm would they interview them like that though? Rust is given beers and has a knife - surely that wouldnt be allowed if he was suspect?! and Hart is just being interviewed in a side office in his department by looks of it.

Long shot guess that Hart's father-in-law is the killer! Somebody on IMDB posted saying that Hart's wife is involved in some way!

I think both of the detectives in modern day are covering for Maggie Hart.....
There are subtle hints that she is having a tough time psychologically
Her daughters are somehow witnessing the satanic rituals, and drawing pictures of it....the daughter distinctly draws a picture of a guy with a beard having sex similar to the "spaghetti monster"
Cohle is attracted to her, because he is hunting her

In the first episode she knew where the body was before the actual press conference...she claims she saw it on the news.

She chastises her daughter with a cryptic "you are turning something beautiful into something ugly"....at least I thought it was cryptic
