Listen dude I get it, u love this show that u will defend it no matter how disappointing or anticlimatic the last few episodes were. they built this show up to be something amazing in the first half of the season and in the end it just came down to a chase with some fuking crazy guy, rust changing his beliefs n marty crying in front of his family

but hey it was a good show

I thought the finale was perfect for this show. The middle 30 minutes of last night's episode was as creepy and dramatic as the entire series.

And the final 10-- tied everything together perfectly.

But that is just MY OPINION.

I don't expect anyone else to line up and agree with it--

Some people were expecting last night's show to take 20 different turns, but reading an interview with Pizzolatto, he never intended that. He wanted to audience to see the entire picture and not surprise them at the end with some stupid twist.

The ending kind of sucked especially the last bit when Rust was talking outside the hospital. It's a hard show to put an ending to but maybe they could have skipped a year or so in the future to see what both of them were up to.

Wow man.

That last 10 minutes may have been some of the best acting you will ever see in a scripted TV show... and no better way to go out that Rust flipping the bird to the hospital, and Marty there to drive him off.

McConaughey is on another level right now. And Woody played his role perfectly.

A+ series. A+ ending.

Great acting, great dialogue - left all the hooks in the previous episodes. Wrapped it up right.

I, for one, did not want to see the kind of ending that wraps up a Lethal Weapon-typemovie. Better than that.

I would watch this whole series again and will keep an eye out from here on in with anything that has Nic Pizzolatto's name on it.

Liked the finale, didn't love it. It finished the season well but do think there was a big build up for not so much of anything. At least as much as expected but solid finale.

Loved the show and like Sam said, McConaughey was/is on another level now.

Not that everything in a show needs to be tied in, but what was the purpose of showing the daughter's (when she was young) notebook full of sexual drawings? Seems empty and meaningless.

I usually wait til season is over then binge watch because of the waiting shit.....

but this one has got my attention , tuning in every week watching the episode at least twice.....

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced their nominees for the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards; HBO received 15 nominations, the most of any television network.


'Game of Thrones' was nominated for best drama series. In the comedy category, both 'Girls' and 'Silicon Valley' were recognized. Lena Dunham and Julia Louis-Dreyfus scored nods of their comedic performances in 'Girls' and 'Veep.'


In the category of best mini-series or TV movie, 'Olive Kitteridge' received a nomination, along with actors Frances McDormand and Bill Murray. In addition to a nod for best mini-series, 'True Detective' garnered nominations for Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson and Michelle Monaghan. Mark Ruffalo and Matt Bomer were recognized for their roles in 'The Normal Heart,' which also received a nomination for best film.


Cinemax's 'The Knick' was recognized with a nomination for actor Clive Owen.


The awards will be presented on January 11, 2015 at 8 p.m. ET.

Rust would of never changed his beliefs in real life for the fact faith is just faith and once your eyes are open it is impossible to close them unless you happen to have a head injury causing permanent brain damage..

That 8th episode finale knocked the series from a 5 star down to a 2 and a half star..

That actually looks like a decent cast. Colin Farrell is good, Vince Vaughn might be good if he has a half serious character and don't talk a lot like he does in every movie and Rachel McAdams is number one on my list of chicks I want to bang so all and all looks pretty good.
