I do not know anything about stocks, but I started an IT internship this week at an investment firm in the city. They manage $8 Billion currently for clients, so it sounds like a lot. I'm surrounded by guys who are literally wealthy and seasoned veterans. Clearly know what they are doing. Unfortunately, it is apparently insider trading if I invest in anything these guys invest in for clients. These guys went to big time schools for this crap but I'm hoping to somehow figure out some knowledge from them eventually. They have access to some serious tools though to help. I believe the senior portfolio managers bonuses depend on how well they invest money for clients. I do not totally understand things yet (it will take awhile) but I do know they use Bloomberg and APL software and there are routers for that traffic dedicated just to that. It's pretty insane. Good luck OP
