Giroux is a failure as a captain.

Voracek was in a car accident over the summer in Europe that he was lucky to walk away from. It could have easily killed him.

Brayden Schenn has been one the best players on the team so far. He's one of the few who gives an honest effort every night. Likewise, his brother Luke.

Lecavalier is going to miss a week. Hartnell, Simmonds, Couturier have been disasters offensively. Simmonds tries and gives the effort but doesn't appear to have the skill to finish or make plays.

Couturier, although sound defensively, is on the verge of bust status. He appears to have no offensive instincts whatsoever. He also plays timidly and scared. He gets bumped off the puck quite easily. He's neither a natural goal scorer nor a playmaker.

The Flyers are in some real trouble. The blame should go to where it belongs, namely, the general manager, Paul Holmgren.

He needs to be fired and a competent replacement brought in. I think most Flyers fans feel it will be Ron Hextall.

B. Schenn definitely has impressed me as you mentioned earlier in this thread. Looks like he put on muscle in the offseason, he seems much stronger on the puck. Other than that nothing to be excited about. Hopefully they can expose the rookie goalie for the Rangers tonight.

I hear ya but the problem is the Flyers have a tendency to make backup goalies look like the second coming of Bernie Parent.

They have a horrible record against the Rangers in recent years as well. The Rangers have their number. There is no way the Flyers should be favored here.

I guess it had to do with them being extremely injured and on the back end of a long road trip. Ugly win and I'm not so sure that was a distinct kick on that goal, but we will take the W!

We'll definitely take the W. The kicked goal actually looked like a good goal to me and several of the Flyers beat writers said the same thing. To be considered a kick, you have to have a deliberate kicking motion involved. It looked like the guy was taking a normal stride to me and the puck bounced off his skate.

The Flyers are truly bad. We're talking them fighting Buffalo for the first pick in the draft kind of bad this year. The Islanders are going to bury them on Saturday. Craig Berube is also a nitwit of a head coach. Absolutely clueless.

His first defense pair is Gustafsson-Timonen. LOL against the bigger forwards in the league they are going to get manhandled. Timonen is the worst player on the team this year. The worst. An old, broken-down, almost 40 year old who makes horrible decisions and is physically overmatched.

Right now, I'd say that if you take into account production ratio vs salary that Timonen might represent the worst value out of all players in the NHL this season. This is how bad he's been.

Giroux. His new name is Captain Invisible. Where the fukk is he? Still hasn't scored a fukkin goal yet. Couturier. Flyers thought they got a steal with him dropping to them at the 8th selection of the draft. Instead, they got a purely shutdown 3C with no offensive ability at all. The kid couldn't score a goal if the opposition played with no goalie. He had two great chances to score last night, one was right in front at point blank range in front of an exposed net and he shot it into the stands.

Anyway, this team is dreadful. The coach is enept. The GM has got to go.
