#55372The sharp forecast says Indiana beats Cleveland 114-101. The public gauge says Indiana wins 111-108.
Public pressure on this game is on Cleveland but the line has moved toward the forecasts. As pressure builds for Cleveland to cover a spread, so increases, to an extent, the risk of an actual upset loss. In my opinion, if that’s the situation, we wouldn’t see a low -3 line with Cleveland favored drop to -2.
Taking money from Cleveland and sending it to Indiana will mitigate that pressure to cover the spread and I could see Cleveland handling the business here as the numbers go on to fail.
As usual, the first game of the day carries risk when trading as the money is just starting to flow. That said, I think the market is pulling a fast one and have picked up Cleveland Cavaliers -125 over Indiana Pacers instead of laying the 2 points, even if it only costs -102.
Metrics say the moneyline is at stake here, not the spread.
Good Luck

#55378The sharp forecast has Toronto beating Milwaukee 104-90. The public gauge says Milwaukee wins 101-100.
Obviously, the public anticipates a good series between these two teams. Once again, there’s pressure on Toronto to cover a spread, like Cleveland, yet it appears to be outpaced by the public numbers.
I still think Toronto losing the first game was the best thing to happen to them these playoffs and think the public is a bit overbought here. The problem is that the originators gave the public Milwaukee -1, instead of Toronto being favored and letting the line move.
At this point, I don’t have the numbers for a trade to press forecast of Toronto, but some metrics involving teaser analysis and final scores indicate that if it is Toronto, then they will win by 4 points.
I’ve hinted at this type of analysis before and its alignment now may lead us into a Toronto bet.

#55381I have Nashville winning 5-1 and in my opinion the current price has value.
I'm suspicious. I'm always suspicious.
I does seem like the betting public just pressed the Blackhawks right into a corner for this series...maybe they never pay.
I hope the Cavs don't give up at halftime...lol.

#55384The sharp forecast says San Antonio beats Memphis 98-94. The public gauge has SA winning 98-92.
To the vast world of bettors not looking at numbers might see this as a low line for SA, especially given recent performance. Sure, there’s pressure on Memphis but with such public support on SA, it seems the line is moving the wrong way or should be higher.
The fact is, however, that the forecast only shows SA winning by 4 and the lower pressure is likely home team pressure to respond to SA and cover a spread.
I think it’s too tight and am so far passing on the side.

#55394The sharp forecast says Chicago beats Boston 114-96. The public gauge has it closer with Chicago winning 105-102.
Clearly the line is much closer to the public gauge and the public has supported Boston, especially on the moneyline. The books new this was coming but catered a bit to the sharp groups with Chicago opening favored. Pressure hit the moneyline but Rondo being injured sealed the deal.
Personally, I think there’s far too much Boston money on this game. I don’t think it’s the same tactics out front as yesterday and will likely sit out this game completely.
The thing is, when sharps sit during injuries like this, it’s often the time for a team in Boston’s position to get a win.
In my opinion, however, in this moment that’s not worth betting.

#55402The sharp forecast says Houston beats Oklahoma City 113-112. The public gauge says Houston wins 112-111.
Oklahoma City is obviously under some heavy pressure to get a win here at home. This game three desperation by the trailing team and potential let up by the leading team do influence the lines.
Rest assured, if the line gets far enough out of whack, the sharps will step in and make a market.
I have no play here, just those thoughts. I’m heading to dinner so know that the sharp forecast has the Clippers winning 104-96. The public gauge has Utah winning 102-98.
From the early opener, it looks like this game has seen some classic reverse line movement consistent with the numbers above but I believe the major factor in that movement is based on moneyline bets on the Clippers.
In general, it seems like moneyline bets are a driving market force for these third games. I’m not trading the game now but, long term, have the Clippers to win in the elevation. It’s probably not the wisest of bets and the current market numbers no longer warrant the risk.
It’s moved too much.
