#2837Mr Bauman was waiting to see his girlfriend finish the race when a man in a white cap and sweatshirt dropped a backpack at his feet. The 27-year-old lost both his legs in the explosion.
Despite being heavily drugged, Mr Bauman got word to the authorities that he had seen one of the bombers.
He told FBI investigators that he looked in the eyes of Tamerlan Tsarnaev as he planted the bomb. He went on to identify him in a photograph.
Mr Bauman’s brother, Chris, said: “He woke up under so much drugs, asked for a paper and pen and wrote, 'bag, saw the guy, looked right at me’.”

As Mr Bauman was treated in intensive care, he was interviewed by FBI agents and gave a description of the bomber.
His brother said the account was emphatic and convincing.

“I’ve had many times alone with him, and yes, he told me every single detail,” Chris Bauman said.
The FBI was able to narrow its inquiries down to two suspects who were related from tens of thousands of people pictured in the area before the attacks.
The information triggered the manhunt that culminated in the car chase and shoot-outs that shut down Boston.
The Bauman family only learnt about Jeff’s injuries hours after the event.
They saw television images of him being wheeled from the scene, his lower legs destroyed. Erika Schneider, Mr Bauman’s sister, saw it first. “She called my mom, freaking out,” Chris Bauman said. He was working at a McDonald’s near their home in Concord, New Hampshire, when his mother telephoned.
“Chris, you have to sprint home,” she said. “Something’s happened.”
Carlos Arredondo, a bystander wearing a cowboy hat, was hailed for helping to save Mr Bauman’s life.
As the second bomb went off 100 yards away, Mr Arredondo intervened to rescue Mr Bauman. He held an exposed artery between his thumb and forefinger to stop the bleeding from his legs.
“He had no legs,” said Mr Arredondo. “I told him, 'My name’s Carlos, you’re going to be OK. Help is on the way.’ ”
He grabbed one of the first things he saw that might work as a tourniquet – a sweater – which he ripped apart to stem the bleeding.
“That was a whole marathon,” he said. “Getting people out of the way and getting him help.”
It later emerged that Mr Arredondo had lost two sons, one a marine who was killed fighting in Iraq and another who committed suicide.
On receiving the news of his son’s death in Iraq 2004, Mr Arredondo tried to commit suicide.
His life was saved by the soldiers who brought him the news. Had they not intervened, his attempt could have succeeded - meaning he never would have been present at the marathon to save Mr Bauman’s life, ensuring that he in turn could help investigators identify the suspect.
It has also emerged that Joe Berti, a runner who survived the Boston bombs, returned to his home in Waco, Texas - when two days later he saw a fertiliser plant explode, killing at least 12 people.[/QUOTE]
Guy is an absolute legend. The stupid media cheapens the word hero by using it to describe celebrities or worse journalists who happened to be there on the day and instead of helping people decided to file stories but this victim and the cowboy are true heroes. That fukker in the white hat will pay Mr Bauman. We can't do anything else than promise that but it will happen one way or another. Gosh people like him and the cowboy make me remember how strong the human spirit is.Comment -

#2847And now the 1st character assassination:
WNYC: A suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing who was shot dead after a police standoff on Friday had an “air of power” and an intensity that could frighten, his former friend told WNYC.
Ashley Stackowitz was a freshman at Suffolk Univesity when she met Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the brothers suspected of being involved in the deadly marathon bombing. He and her roommate began dating.
At first, she said, Stackowitz would hang out with them too, going drinking at bars like the Underbar in Boston. He'd give them rides in his nice car and he would pay for things.
But eventually, Stackowitz said, she felt uncomfortable around Tsarnaev. She described him as the clear leader of his group of friends, with "an air of power." He was "wicked intense," she described, and at times forceful with women.
She said he had a thick Russian accent, but was comfortable speaking English. She said he was close to his family, particularly a sister and his mother, whom she remembered he lived with. She never heard him discuss religion or international affairs.
Her roommate broke up with him, but they got back together, though her friends warned against it. Stackowitz says her roommate eventually started wearing a headscarf and became a practicing Muslim.
Stackowitz said her roommate told her she'd dropped out of school when she got pregnant. The last time they talked in 2011, her roommate told her she'd married Tsarnaev at City Hall and had a daughter. She was considering changing her name to a Russian or Muslim name.
Stackowitz said they haven't been in touch since. When she tries to call old roommate now, her messages go to a full voicemail.
What is wrong with this? Whose character is being ruined?Last edited by SBRAdmin3; 06-11-14, 10:28 AM.Comment -

#2858Boston Bombers' MOM ARRESTED For Stealing at Lord and Taylor Dept. Store Last Year
Zubeidat K. Tsarnaeva has been named as the mother of Boston Marathon Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev.
According to DailyMail, 45-year-old Zubeidat was arrested last year for allegedly stealing clothes worth $1600 from Lord and Taylor department store.
Could this be what finally set them off?Comment -

#2859Still no video footage of Suspect #2 dropping bag at the 2nd blast site....
Still no photo or video footage of Suspect #1 post-blast....
How the heck does a 19 year old escape from the police/FBI whose entire resources are being devoted to finding these guys? And not be found in over 12 hours?
Where is the evidence that these 2 killed the MIT officer?
This whole thing reeks, good chance these 2 kids are just diversions to divert attention from the real culprits. They were likely unassuming pawns in this whole thing.Comment -

#2860Future terrorists are taking notes. Get 2 kids to divert the entire attention and resources to them, and then the other terrorists in the group are free to pretty much do whatever they want to do behind the scenes.Comment -

They said earlier in the day, part of the reason for being so cautious is because they had no idea what parts of the city they had been in or had access to where they might have put other devices or whatever before the mayhem from last night.Comment -

#2867These guys must have assumed that they could blend back in and not be ID'd. Otherwise, wouldn't they have left towdn? They could have in the aftermath. But it looks like they didn't go anywhere. Why the hekc would they think they wouldn't be ID's with the clothing they were wearing, the backwards cap and everything? Very odd. Seems like they started to go berserk after the FBI released the pics.Comment -

No reason the kid couldnt have avoided heat signatures if he was wearing lead/copper undergarment. Only weighs roughly 10lbs and is a effective blocker of heat against thermal imaging equipment. Could have had the plates sewn into his undergarment which wouldve assisted him in avoiding detection.
Yeah its out there but those russians are a crafty bunch after all.
