OK Gentlemen, here's the deal.....TV went out in the great room. Not really all that surprising, as its 7.5 years old. Its a 62" Toshiba DLP. Thought it was just the bulb, but after replacing it, still nada. I have decided its toast. Time to replace and upgrade. Have multiple Samsung 240 hz LED's in the game room of varying sizes. Have no issues with these, as they all fit the bill. I have room for a 70" downstairs, and I want it to be awesome.

I'm looking for some tips from some of you techies out there.

The Samsung's are top notch, that's what I've got back home. Still not sure anything can match the Pioneer Kuro's in picture quality, dunno if you can find those though.

Don't get Passive 3D tv's, when there's high FPS demanding action, passive 3D's have slight screen lag and on some scenes it's noticeable.. The Active 3D glasses do weight a slight bit more but it gets the job done..

Love my Samsung Plasma, but it does burn in a bit and you have to scroll it often so it doesn't stick. I'm not a fan of LED myself, everything just looks like a soap opera to me, it's too clear.

i would NEVER get a sharp, vizio, etc

there are only 3 top-tier names for tvs right now:
samsung
sony
lg

i even got a free brand new sharp 3d blu-ray player and it sucks so bad i wish i would've never won it. makes a whirring noise when playing blu-rays. maybe their tvs are better made but i wouldn't count on it.
