I think the Bulls roll here. Atlanta was one of the worst home teams ATS in the NBA. The loss of Hinrich was very big. Sure, Atlanta won game 1 but there was a lot of luck invovled. Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford were just downright on fire lighting it up from the outside. The biggest problem I see with the Hawks right now is their inside game. They can't get easy baskets. Their current playoff rotation is bascially just Joe J, Teague, Smith, Williams, Horford and Crawford. The rest of the team doesn't even play a combined 20 minutes. The only guys really that can score inside are Smith and Horford and they are struggling big time and I don't see that changing as defensively Chicago just matches up very well. Teague played great games 1 and 2 but he's still very young and I don't see him playing as well. Rose should have a big game. Noah has been great every game in the playoffs and he should play well. Chicago's bench is muchh deeper with Korver, Gibson, Brewer and Watson. I think the Bulls will break 90 and hold the Hawks in the 80's.Scared money don't make money

I am rolling with the Mavericks tonight playing at home against the Lakers. Mavericks are up 2-0 and have now won 4 playoff games in a row. This team is confident and playing very well. I think the Lakers are just completely falling apart. Gasol has been playing terrible and now we find out he was recently split up with his wife clouding his ability to fully focus on the games. Bynum is questioning the trust between the team in the middle of the 2nd round, bad sign. Kobe went to the basket once last game and it was the missed layup, he is turning into the black hole sitting around the perimeter and shooting jumpers. Artest is not playing tonight, got ejected for a clothesline. Shannon Brown who has been horrible lately shooting 36% and plays terrible defense will start tonight and should throw off the chemistry big time. The only bench piece the Lakers have really is Odom. Blake and Barnes have been bad. Compare their bench to Dallas who has the best and there is a big mismatch there. Dirk has been a monster and I think he comes up big tonight. Line opened -1 and with public obviously on LA, the line has since gone up and fluctuated between -2 and -2.5. Kind of significant that it crossed the key even number 2.Scared money don't make money

#307Originally posted by sweetjones55Thunder Series -160 LOCKED (x2) WINNER!!
The Thunder are coming off their best offensive game of the playoffs last game and I think they will carry that momentum into Memphis and win one and possibly have a chance to win both games. Westbrook and Durant lit it up for 24 and 26 points. Thabo, Ibaka and Perkins shot 6-11 (55%). The bench had it's best game by far with 21 points from Harden, 15 points from Maynor, 2-3 shooting from Cook and 2-3 shooting from Collison. The bench really needed a game like this to get their confidence going.
I really think Game 1 was just an aberration for Memphis. Randolph and Gasol are better players than Ibaka/Perkins but they should not be going off for 54 points on 21-33 (64%) shooting. Ibaka is a long athletic power forward and should contain Perkins. Gasol is a big slow center and Perkins should limit him. Randolph was 2-13 and Gasol was 3-9 in game 2. The Thunder came out with a good defensive plan and executed it and I think they will replicate that somewhat in game 3/4.
At the end of the day, I still think that OKC presents the biggest mismatches on the court as no one can stop Westbrook or Durant. Conley can't slow down Westbrook, he's too small and not strong enough. Memphis has tried Sam Young on Durant which is a joke. He's just too slow footed and undersized. Allen and Battier also take their shots defending KD but again they gave up a ton of inches to Durant and he can get his shot off whenever he wants.Scared money don't make money

#310Originally posted by sweetjones55Mavericks -4 -150 LOCKED (x2) WINNER!!
I am rolling with the Mavericks in game 1 and for the series. They come into this series having beat Portland 4-2 and sweeping LA. OKC comes in beating Denver 4-1 and going to game 7 against Memphis. Dallas won 2 out of the 3 meetings during the regular season and Dirk got hurt in the 2Q in one game and didn't play at all in another. I really see a matchup edge in favor of the Mavericks at many positions.
The Mavericks have a big advantage at PF. I think the Mavericks success hinges a ton on Dirk Nowitzki, he is their leader and I think they go as he goes.He really dominated the Thunder this year. In the first game, he only played 11 minutes and he got 13 points 4-6 shooting, 3 assists and two turnovers. In the other game he was 9-15 34 points 4 assists. In 50 minutes of game time versus OKC, Dirk Nowtizki scored 47 points. That's a 45 points per 48 minutes average against OKC. Since he missed one game against OKC and this was a small sample, I looked at Dirk's games from last year. In one game he was a monster going 10-19 30 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists. In another game he scored 24 points had 8 assists and 9 rebounds. Almost a triple double in just 36 minutes of play. In another game against OKC he was 9-18 32 points 5 rebounds. In the last game against OKC he was 13-18 35 points 11 rebounds. Basically Dirk has been a monster against OKC and they have had no answer for him at all and I don't see the answer to him on OKC's team right now.
I think a lot of people think the PG position is a big advantage in favor or OKC and I disagree. OKC has Westbrook/Maynor and the Mavericks have Kidd/Barea. Westbrook is his own worst enemy and he is highly inconsistent, sure he can have a big game but he single handedly has lost a few playoff games for the Thunder which is exactly what you don't want from your PG. Kidd and Barea run the Mavericks offense to a tee and don't ball hog and always make the right pass. Barea is averaging 13ppg, 6 assists in just 24 minutes in playoffs. That averages out to 24ppg and 12 assists per 48 minutes. THIS IS THEIR BACKUP PG. Kidd is averaging 10ppg, 4.2 rebounds and 7 assists in just 33.6 miutes in the playoffs. So combined Barea and Kidd are averaging 23ppg and 13 assists. Maynor and Westbrook combined average 29ppg and 9.5 assists.
The SG position is definitely in favor of the Mavericks because of Jason Terry. Sefolosha and Stevenson cancel each other out. Harden has been good averaging 12ppg on 45% shooting but Terry has shot far better 52% and is averaging 18ppg and he comes up with the big ones too in the 4Q.
Obviously at the SF positon the Thunder have an advantage with Durant. But if you look at the Thunder roster you will notice that they don't really have another SF on the entire roster to back him up. Still Durant is a superstar but the Mavericks aren't too shabby at the SF postion with Shawn Marion and Peja Stojackovic, two former allstars who still can make a big impact on any given game. Don't be surprised to see a good series from Shawn Marion. For whatever reason, he has his best games vs OKC. He was 12-17 25 points in one game. 10-15 20 points in another game vs OKC. And 5-9 12 points in the last game. They also have 6"9 Corey Brewer who you will see more play this series to match up on Durant.
Mavericks have a big advantage at Center with Tyson Chandler. He will be matched up with Perkins which is perfect for him because Tyson is much more athletic and Kendrick won't be able to pull him out of the lane with his jump shot threat. Chandler also played exceptionally well vs OKC this year, I would expect him to have a good series as he will have 3-4 inches on whoever is on him. He had 14 poitns 18 rebounds in one game. 7 points 10 rebounds in just 26 mins in another game. 17 points and 18 rebounds in the last game vs OKC. Brendan Haywood is the backup C who would probably start for a lot of NBA teams.
I think the Mavericks also have a big advantage with their coach Carlisle. He has just been around for much longer and has more experience/knowledge of the game in my mind. I think you saw Brooks lack of coaching ability in these recent games late against Memphis when they just fell apart and couldn't score at all. Mavericks also have the luxury of home court which is always big in the playoffs and more rest.Scared money don't make money
